i've just finished  When Day Descends - Transcend, realy intrigue music, it has intersting acoustic , synth  moments, not agressive line, instrumental post rock with slight heavyness here and there, good album, smooth passages.. to listen it when it's raining outside Smile

Alright guys wish me luck! I'm off to Florida tommorrow for Junior nationals. It's gonna be a five day long swim meet, and I'm swimming at least once every day of it, one of those includes the 100 Breastroke which I'm ranked 34th in!

All this time for myself will give me lots of time with my ipod, so expect me to be raving about some group we all know about, but I just decided to pick up and end up loving.

See you in a week!

What's the general consensus on the new Irepess in these parts?
I can't be bothered going back to see if you guys already posted much opinions on it, but now that you've had more time to listen to it, tell me about it.

I loved it.Big smile It's quite different from the first one... but I'd say it sounds more complete.

^I disagree completely. It sounds totally fragmented and all over the place. To me, it sounds like they just threw any and all ideas they had onto the thing. The vocals were useless or detrimental (not to mention it sounded like they were thrown in at the last minute). There were certain parts where the band really struck gold, but they were too few and far between for me to listen to it. I will say that they did develop a unique sound on it, though.

Yep. It's not a bad album by any means, just not one that really grabbed me.

^I've heard from a few others it didn't grab them much compared to Samus Octology either.
I've been told it's more post rock-y, which explains why it appeals to Sebastian a bit more, but to the post metal heads that were expecting something bone crushing, it left something to be desired.

On the new Irepress. ... Yeah, while it was playing I had to keep checking if it was them...  Way different than Samus Octology.  While not bone crushing it's still good though.

Speaking of bone crushing, Back When's "We Sang as Ghosts" really impressed me, really good album.  Thumbs Up

I also put The Postman Syndrome in the car for careful listening and also picked up If These Trees Could Talk, both are great albums..

speaking of new Irepress,it didn't impress me much, very diferent from Samus Octology, it is softer, no crushing riffs, not a bad album .. but samus is much better. i listened Back When - We Sang as Ghosts, but it didn't struck me .. not bad.. but .. i haven't heard Postman Syndrome yet, i intentioned to do that, ...

^ Yeah, i actually dug Samus Octology, but their new album... not so much. I don't think it's bad, but kind of, maybe, less adventurous than SO?   I think it's just that groovyness appeals more to me than a more straight forward/conventional metal/rock style.

Anyways, just found a pretty gosh darn decent math rock band fellas; they're called "The Littlest Viking"; be sure to give them a try if you're a Maps & Atlases fan:
