Hey thanks for the notice, M@x. The RPQ tag would be a bit much as the groups run from folk to symphonic to Jazz to extreme metal. I just use it as a way to put all their albums into one CD wallet for easy access.
Though a good number of them do share a commonality in their sourcing of musical & cultural aspects of their Quebecois & French Canadian roots - i.e. mix some Europeen (classical, celtic , intellectual) , some American (jazz, blues , rock , pop), with their own twist as long distance observers of the outside world's music scenes. But then you get Voivod, or Aut'chose and the whole thing blows apart. |

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Sorry to spoil the fest but this thread reminded me old Willie's words :
What's a name ? If you call a rose in different name, will it loose it's blossom ?
I have no problem with this change and even can see why it is more accurate but after all it still deals with clasification which I concider not very important.
I'm not against it. I just try to remind that classification is something that should help us find great music. The music is the real issue.

I always considered the moniker ISP as Italian SCHOOL of Prog (school instead of symphonic) . But that is the rebel in me! RPI is actually the better term + its in the right language!
