We got snow again yesterday, but it melted off because it rained all night. Still, the sleet was nice to walk home in yesterday Dead

Oh this is bloody ridiculous!

We got maybe 3-4 inches overnight (if that)... schools closing, drivers travelling about 5mph, roads ice rinks (might have been nice if some gritting had been done) & there's only 2 of us even made the effort to get in

I don't know whether to post this here, The Shed, The Ranting Room or whatever.

WHY DOES THIS COUNTRY GRIND TO A BLOODY HALT EVERY TIME WE HAVE SNOW?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

^^and apparently, most councils (in the Midlands at least) are running out of gritting salt... Warks have got 3 days worth left at most, and are going to have to import some more from the continent, over the weekend...LOLEmbarrassed
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

No snow, I'm happy to report, but despite the positively baking weather, we're supposed to get rain later this week...which will suck, because it will dely the construction in the alley across from my work, and the sooner we get 'em out the better I says...

We were given a great excuse down here - 'there's not enough traffic to make the grit work...'

Would the school in southern Ohio be Miami University by any chance?

Of course understood, it's just that we've had a brutal winter here in the Pacific NW.  No ice for the polar bears, just send 'em to Seattle Wink

After pretty much a whole winter of nothing, March comes along and we're about to get hit with a pretty big one, could be a foot on the ground tomorrow.

I don't beleive I have shared this story with anyone here, but I have a funny snow story.

Last year here when I was a sophomore, it snowed the 3rd to last day of school. There were 2 inches of snow on the ground. We had to move the graduation ceremony indoors, because it kept snowing and we couldn't use the football field. And even having the ceremony in the gym had problems. The snow caused a shortage for about a minute, and everybody watching was in a black gym for a few moments. Since we had to tag an extra day at the end of school because we had too many snow days, graduation was the night of the 2nd last day of school. After attending the all-night senior lock in party on graduation night, I went to my last day of school. After dismissal, there was an inch of snow on the ground.

First day of summer, and there was snow. It was ridiculous.LOL
