It could have been worse: the two of them having health problems in the same period. No world tour, a thousand of Yes fans lost and depressed... How is Steve Howe in these days?

I was actually getting ready to head up to Portland tomorrow to see them at the Aladdin and just happened to find this out.

I really hope Chris is able to make a quick and full recovery--my thoughts are with him.

Has anyone heard any news on our beloved Yes musician? I've been searching viciously, and will continue doing so.

My heart goes out to Chris, and his family.

EDIT: Here is the most recent news from YesWorld.com

Forgive me I can't know details but I guess Chris' leg should have a blood clot by an external wound or trauma...at any rate, please get well sooner, Chris! Unhappy

Yes,

My prayers for Chris too!. His bass playing is unique, but also his vocal arrangements and harmonies are inspired.

I have been a Yes fan since 1972 (when I was 13), and was always a hugh fan of Chris' masterful playing. Let us hope this is nothing serious and he will retain his health, even if it does mean no more touring.

My very best wishes to Chris - the first time I heard The Fish on Yessongs I was absolutely astonished at what a bass player could do, especially with a Rick' stereo bass!!

Remember, Wakeman had serious heart problems and is still on the circuit...

hahaha...  getting punched out by Bruford settled that cosmic score.  Being an ass gets a fist.. not life-threatening conditions.

YESWORLD: The Yes Online Service

UPDATE: February 18, 2009

---------

"IN THE PRESENT" TOUR CANCELLED

The "In The Present Tour", featuring Yes' Steve Howe, Chris Squire,
and Alan White, is cancelling the remaining scheduled shows.

Founding Yes member, Chris Squire, underwent surgery on his leg on
February 11, 2009. The operation was successful and Chris is on his
way to a full recovery.

However, Chris has been advised by his physician that he needs a one
month rest period, hence the reason for the cancellation of the rest
of the tour dates.

As previously stated, Chris and the rest of the band wishes to
apologize for any inconvenience that this might have caused to their
fans and hopes to see them again soon.

Well wishes to Chris on his recovery. I again will state that seeing the Yes in the Present show in November was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time (of course it was the first time I'd seen Yes in any form). Chris was looking as strong as any of his generation that show so hopefully this is a recover and keep on rockin' type of thing.
