This is from Yesworld:

February 11, 2009 - Yes Members on Rockline Postponed

Due to a medical emergency tonight's scheduled appearance will not occur. Instead Rockline will present an encore performance with Jon Anderson from February 25, 2004, which includes a special acoustic performance.

Apparently Chris had a blood clot, and isn't doing to well. I have only heard this through other people, and it might be exaggerated, but something is certainly not well with him.

Here is the scuttle bug from Yesfans: http://www.yesfans.com/showthread.php?t=50803 - Yesfans Forum

Considering all the losses the musical world has been sustaining lately, this does not bode well.

That said, I pray for Chris's speedy recovery.  He is by far my favorite member of Yes.

Very worrying indeed - I was listening to Yessongs on the way to work for the first time in a long while & just marvelled at his playing.

Fingers crossed...

There's so little info available making it difficult not to suspect that this is very serious. Here's hoping that this giant of Prog makes a speedy recovery.

Well, some of them SHOULD retire (no, I will NOT tell any name). But it's true that there has been a high number of deaths among prog-rock (or even prog-related) musicians this past year.

It could have been worse: the two of them having health problems in the same period. No world tour, a thousand of Yes fans lost and depressed... How is Steve Howe in these days?

I have been a Yes fan since 1972 (when I was 13), and was always a hugh fan of Chris' masterful playing. Let us hope this is nothing serious and he will retain his health, even if it does mean no more touring.

My very best wishes to Chris - the first time I heard The Fish on Yessongs I was absolutely astonished at what a bass player could do, especially with a Rick' stereo bass!!

Remember, Wakeman had serious heart problems and is still on the circuit...

UPDATE: February 18, 2009

---------

"IN THE PRESENT" TOUR CANCELLED

The "In The Present Tour", featuring Yes' Steve Howe, Chris Squire,
and Alan White, is cancelling the remaining scheduled shows.

Founding Yes member, Chris Squire, underwent surgery on his leg on
February 11, 2009. The operation was successful and Chris is on his
way to a full recovery.

However, Chris has been advised by his physician that he needs a one
month rest period, hence the reason for the cancellation of the rest
of the tour dates.

As previously stated, Chris and the rest of the band wishes to
apologize for any inconvenience that this might have caused to their
fans and hopes to see them again soon.

Well wishes to Chris on his recovery. I again will state that seeing the Yes in the Present show in November was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time (of course it was the first time I'd seen Yes in any form). Chris was looking as strong as any of his generation that show so hopefully this is a recover and keep on rockin' type of thing.

We may never see their like again!! I have been listening to 21st Century prog, but there is an undefinable magic about the music generated by bands such as yes in the seventies.

Lets hope they keep producing great music in their senior years.
