The song is Carnival Fugue from the album Focus 3. That album is probably more responsible for my prog obsession than just about anything else! It was my first love... |

Yippeeeee! We got there at last! Right, let me just update things... So many posts to catch up with here... Nobody's got clip 2 right yet. Absolute Zero is a good guess, but not the right one. Fil's way off with Gnidrolog for clip 11. So anyway, with two more right guesses we're left with: A*OMFINCHE* Only two clips left to identify! I'm off to bed now, but if nobody's got them by the morning I'll whip up some extra clues. G'night! |

Spot on. And yes, the final answer is Soft Machine! Well done! So that means the only clip that's yet to be identified is the last one. And as we have established, it ought to begin with an S. There's not so much point in guessing it now, I suppose, but bonus points will go to anyone who gets it. Those of you who contributed to the solving of the puzzle (which I hope you found to be just as pointless as the thread title suggested it would be, if not more so), you may now collect your magic bean from the following address: http://www.box.net/shared/odmmgogd4b Yes, it's one of them new-fangled downloadable magic beans. And yes, it isn't very good. Sorry. |

Hooray! Glad you enjoyed it. I'll work on round two today then. I might make the clips a teeensy bit longer this time, just to be generous. (Heh... My girlfriend's reading over my shoulder and just said "It's so obvious you're unemployed" to me. ) |
