QUEEN — Live Magic
Review by silversaw (Chris)

1 stars It is very unfortunate, that although Queen were one of the best live acts ever, they really hadn't figured out how to record and release a decent document of their live show! Their 1979 attempt, Live Killers was not a terrible attempt, but the sound quality and the lack of several of the tour's best songs made for an incomplete and uneven document. When they finally tried again, with this release in 1986, they collected together a horrid collection of tracks from their 1986 Magic Tour.

The sound quality is much improved, but half of the show is missing...and the tracks are taken from various shows, really breaking any kind of live feel. Those tracks that are included are often edited down to cut out the parts that actually make them interesting. The only really good thing about this release is that it DOES contain several tracks from Queen's last ever concert at Knebworth Park in August 1986. All-in-all, Queen's 1986 tour, although their most successful tour ever, was nothing all that exciting. The set was made up of mostly hit songs, with a few surprises for older Queen fans. Almost every show was identical and Freddie's voice at this point was past its LIVE prime.

This album is pretty terrible!! If you want a really good, complete record of Queen's 1986 tour, buy Live At Wembley. There are actually MUCH better shows out there from the 1986 tour, all on the bootleg market. If you can track down either the German radio broadcast (where Fish from Marillion sings Tutti Frutti on stage with Queen), or the SOUNDBOARD release of their final concert at Knebworth Park (although everyone has been saying for 15 years that it doesn't exist..I own it people), get them. Much better, unedited, raw recordings from the greatest touring act in history...in my opinion of course.

This album is not to be released until 2009, but has so far received 4 ratings, all 5-star...?

PINK FLOYD — Dark Side Of The Moon
Review by fbn.frs2009

Do Pink Floyd sempre preferi Animals, Atom Heart Mother, Wish You Were Here, The Pipper Gates At Dawn...

More like brazuguese. LOL Not that much of a review either:

"I don't like this album, I don't know why, Pink Floyd do better, why is this rated so high, in front of other prog albums? This is criminal, etc... Money and Time are ok, the rest is average."

Oh well. Not too different from other reviews posted. Perhaps deletion and a nice PM asking the author to translate and develop it a bit would do.
Bigger on the inside.

First locate the artist you are interested in and then scroll down till you see their listed albums, then click on the album name you want and scroll down that page till you see a place to write a review. It's pretty easy to find.

P.S. Welcome to PA!

Is it ANYWHERE possible to EDIT/DELETE a review you wrote on this site??? I wanted to post a review on Steven Wilson's Insurgentes, couldn't get it done because I already posted a 'stars only'-rating before (and NO possibility to delete/edit it anywhere!), and somehow my review (which I only wanted to EDIT!) showed up under his 'Cover Versions'-album.

Please HELP!

Sorry folks, not an easy forum to navigate/edit, this is... Confused

Your rating for Insurgentes was deleted... there's room to write a review now.

Wishing to delete the Cover-Versions review just PM me. Thanks.Smile

I don't know how many times I've had to tell people that Brazilian people speak Portuguese. we had a Brazilian pilot on exchange when I was flying with the Canadian AF. He was a real funny guy ( flew Mirages ) and we hit it off well. I'm feeling very Chrismassy right now so I think it's about time I wrote a DSOTM review.I wish I could have met Antione. So here goes DSOTM.
