^ I think the review is laughable and borderline offensive but cannot really see why it should be removed....

Please take any further discussion on the PF review to the reviews disucssion thread. The review is under consideration. The comments it focuses on perhaps fit better in the forum.

Seems like a well argued soft hearted diatribe against the group. But having listened to one of their other albums (since erased from my memory by its' quality), I can see why some would find it spot on.
Heck, if I can accept Klaatu's debut , and Ange's Emile Jacotey being given less than five stars, along with more than a few derisive comments, I'm sure that Popol Vuh's fan(s)Big smile can tolerate the possibility that Umur doesn't like that sort of music.

With the exception of the "paint with his dick" part, the rest, though a little drastic, seems to be between the boundaries that we set for reviews. It's his opinion, and respectable at that.

Sorry to see that my Popol Vuh review has created a stir. I will cut the paint with his dick part if that satisfies the critics. It was only written to emphasize that I feel that the music is art for arts sake. If it´s offensive for anybody I´ll change it. No sweat. My opinion and the 1 star rating stands though. I think my review is valid and an honest opinion ( I do describe how the music sounds, the musicianship and the production), but I can understand that some people might be offended by the aforementioned part. Just PM me if it´s your decision that it should be changed and I´ll change it right away.

As a site note there was actually a Danish artist called Jens Jørgen Thorsen who painted with his dick to make art for arts sake and that was what I was refering to. Sometimes I forget that we have different backgrounds and therefore different references as well. In my country this would not be considered as offensive as it apparently is in other countries. I´ll try and restrain myself next time.

^ It's an excellent review by itself - but one does need to think of other people's feelings when writing.

When referring to body parts in a review, you should use the anatomically correct term. LOL
Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

If nothing else the review does describe an album that has all of the qualities that I am looking to avoid when searching for music.  Especially, the dinger painting.  I wonder if this Danish artist is also an art teacher.  Could make for some interesting parent/teacher conferences.

I've voiced my dissapointment (and I'm far from alone) in allowing reviews of non-released albums to clog our homepage. It seems nothing will ever change in that matter and as a result our website features albums that are going to be released in JANUARY already reviewed..... I don't know, for me that looks SO un-professional... The latest one is this one http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=188898 for Frost* most recent.

Please, I guess you realize this is all for love to the website. I don't gain or lose anything with this.

I, personally, don't think anyone should be allowed to tell other people what to rate a prog record.  We're all adults here, so we can make up our minds as to whether or not a disc gets a good rating.  Who cares if it was their first disc or not?
