I sort of have one for you. The band AtmOsfear says that they are releasing their new album in Autumn 2008. I believe that they are still on Prog Rock records. Here is a link to their website, but it is in German so I am not useful in translating.

Depends on whether you use IE or Firefox etc. In IE8 (the beta is out now) there is a useful translation bot available)
Last update: September 2008
In photo - area Tim now "bildlich" as a Member of atmosfear! The home page is now gradually transformed - try understand when not all 100, we are working! 28.08 2008.
We thank our drummer OLAF great and unique cooperation over the last 10 years and wish him. Unfortunately, professional changes in OLAF on the separation of the belt.
It is with a six in Lotto to compare that we barely two weeks later with Tim beaked the gap close and atmosfear again rehearsed and productive works (Studio preparations).
Tintin, welcome to atmosfear!!! |
thanks Steve...to all intents and purposes, this has already been released and is on sale, but I can't find a relase date as such, so I've left it off...

Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

This is from their website. I don't know what the top part says, but the bottom part does say that a new CD is being released in Autumn 2008:
NEUE PRODUKTION / NEW CD-RELEASE
Neue CD-Produktion (3.) ist für Herbst 2008 geplant.
Studio ist bereits vorgebucht.
New CD-Release is planned for autum 2008!

Thanks Scott...
I don't know how you feel, but I sometimes get the impression that some bands actually don't want anyone to buy their album... their marketing is truly atrocious...why isn't this plastered all over their MySpace page and ProgRock records homepage??...
It's like you have to get a team of experts on the case to decipher what the is going on....

promotionally it seems some bands go overboard whilst others are non-existent!

We can probably shoot a PM over to Big Boss (who is Shawn Gordon from ProgRock Records) and see if he has any additional info. Their previous album was released on ProgRock Records (or at least distributed). I have no idea if this one will be or not, but he could be a good source.

of course, we could do that Scott...you're absolutely right...
however....
as far as I'm concerned, the purpose of this thread is for a few of us to have a quick trawl around the record label's homepages, perhaps once every fortnight, and create a (reasonably) up to date list of forthcoming PM releases, for the benefit of our PA members, and the site generally...
if others want to take this further, in an effort to unearth possible gems that we've vaguely heard about through the mysterious ether of the 'intrawebz', then feel free to do so...but I won't be joining in.
I'm sorry, but (contrary to how it presently appears) I'm just too busy to be able to offer this level of commitment...

Fair 'nuff. And no reason for us to bend over backwards to help promote a band that at least on the surface doesn't appear eager to promote itself.

that's right Scott...I don't want to appear grumpy, but as a general rule, you and I lead busy lives, and have other commitments on PA besides this thread; its all a question of time allocation.
If someone wishes to make more of the concept behind this thread for PA, then they'd be truly welcome, as I think it could be a really useful asset... but left to me, it will be on average, a once-a-fortnight update...

As I've said before J I'll do whatever you believe is necessary. Can you PM me as to what you think I can do or what is needed and we'll take it from there?
If that helps your commitments to other roles within the site all the better.

Adagio
Adagio has just signed with Listenable records (Gojira, Immolation, etc...) for the release of their upcoming album "Archangels In Black" in Europe and Australia. Release date has been set to February 2nd 2009.
The album has been produced and mixed by Stéphan Forté and Kevin Codfert at Kevin’s own studio in Paris during 4 months.
Björn Engelman (Rammstein, Meshuggah, etc…) mastered the album at Cutting Room mastering studios in Sweden.
