I was in attendance to the latest laid egg by the Tigers.  Make that a goose egg.  I believe that was the 12th or 13th time that this murderer's row has been shut out this year.  At one point late in the game they flashed on the scoreboard "Show Some Energy".  Our response was "You First".

I also bought a souvenir foam hand tonight so that I can cheer" "We're number five!!!!"  Yep, my buddy E-dub must be thrilled that his Royals have caught and passed the Tigers.

The Yanks got eliminated after 13 straight playoff appearances......now they know how the Braves felt. It's nice to see Tampa Bay doing so well but I fear for Baseball if they make it to the World Series.

I'm a Yankee fan and it is a sad day, however the run had to end one day.  I am rooting for the Rays, they have had a great season and have shown that they deserve to go to the playoffs.  I am not sure if they can beat the Angels.  I am predicting an Angels/ Cubs World Series.  I would love to see the Dodgers get to the series.

Placido Polanco hit a three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the 9th inning to give the Tigers a come-from behind 10 to 4 loss to the Kansas City Royals.  The Tigers started the season 0 and 7 with Kansas City sweeping the first 3 games of the season at the Coma and KC doubled up by sweeping this series as well and going up 1 game on the Tigers.  4 games series coming up with the Tampa Bay Rays.  Hopefully, the Tigers don't do anything stupid like decide to win some games. At this point, hopefully the Rays should win the East.

Twins beat the Sox again and are now only 1/2 game out of 1st.  It'll be pretty funny if the Tigers have to go out to Chicago on Monday to play a make up game against the Sox.  At this point the Tigers will probably just forfeit.

It would be nice for the Dodgers to make it just so Torre can thumb his nose at Steinbrenner.....then again the NL West is not known for being a great division. Angels\Cubs might be good for baseball. You got the 2 biggest markets although the Angels have little or no following outside of So. Cal.

Dodgers are all but a lock for the postseason.  Twins are gonna win tonight to take a lead in the AL Central that they will never lose.

The Tigers just held on to beat the Rays 7 to 5, delaying the Rays champagne celebration until at least tonight if not tomorrow.

I'm sure they already broke out the champagne when they clinched a playoff spot.

I'm sure they already did too, but during today's broadcast they were saying that they had some in the locker room last night that they had to bring with them today after Boston won.

As bad as the Pirates were this year I am still sorry to see it end. Cooler days turn to winter. I can't wait till Spring training again.

At least football is going now.  It really gets bad between February and April.

Word just got out from Seattle that Ichiro Suzuki is so incredibly unlikable that a number of teammates were plotting to beat him up.  This just goes to further fuel my irrational dislike of Ichiro.

Maybe the Yankees can swap him for Damon.

My apologies for that outburst.

Well, it appears that the Mets have decided to follow the tradition they established last year and save the epic collapse for the very last day of the season.

Well at least they had a chance to make it, my team hasn't sniffed the playoffs since Bonds and Bonilla played for them.

The Tigers go for the 4-game sweep of the Rays today.  Means absolutely nothing but maybe if they won some of these games earlier in the year they'd still have a chance to play past Monday.

Always amazes me when playoff races come down to the last day and there are 2 of them this year.  It'll be interesting to see who makes it and who doesn't.

That goes to show that the arguement about the baseball season being far too long is invalid. I can't say when the last time Football,Basketball or Hockey went down to the last weekend to decide who is in and who is out of the playoffs.

I personally would like to see the season to be over by the first week in October like it was back in the 60's. There is nothing good about seeing a baseball game being played in the snow like what happened when Cleveland made it last.
