Yeah, I guess that isn't as satisfying as when he launches them over the outfield wall.

Which he did AGAIN today.

Congrats. Here's hoping that he makes it to the big show.

Everyone keeps talking about the Yanks 2nd half probable burst, almost using it as an excuse.
So far in this game they've been hitting...hope they keep it up

Never thought I'd see solid pitching and hitting woes for the Yankees Wacko

^ Well, the Yankees are a 2nd half team. Last year they had the best 2nd half record in the MLB.

Chipper Jones is stating that if their offense gets on track to go along with their pitching they're going to be a force to reckon with in the NL East. I would like to see that happen. The Braves win one last pennant for Bobby Cox. He seems to be nearing the end of his managerial career. Not saying that he's a bad manager just that there is little more that he can accomplish.

It seems like after your streak of 14 straight pennants gets broken you should just quit, because nothing is going to be impressive after that.

And Chipper is now hitting a pathetic .375.

Wow, guess the moment 2nd half hit the Yanks decided to start playing well LOL

And it's not too often you win the game in overtime when you're up with the bases loaded and get hit by the pitch...the most anti-climactic game ever!

Molina totally stuck his leg out to get hit by that.

Not that I care, I'll take a W no matter how the Yanks get it.

They are fortunate to be in the worst division in baseball at the moment. They can go the route of the A's and build their team up with prospects. I see they traded Durham to the BrewCrew today.

Oh I didnt see it, I was driving and listening to it on the radio.
But they are playing pretty well. I swear, the moment the 2nd half hit it's like "oh better start trying now"

Worst this year but last year they had both teams in the NLCS and the World Series rep.  Coloradao, D-backs and Dodgers all have really good young players. There is alot of good talent but the pitching seems down for some reason.  Injuries for sure but everyone has them. Arizona needs a closer.  The Dodgers need another starter and a bat and hold Nick Colletti under water still he stops kicking, the Padres are the one team really sinking and the Giants weren't going to be good this year.

Brandon Lyon has been very, VERY effective this year.  What Arizona needs, more than anything else, is experience.  Padres are definitely the most helpless team right now; it feels like Adrian Gonzalez is the only player on the whole team who's worth anything at all.  Giants are certainly in rebuilding mode.  Dodgers are alright on starting pitching assuming Brad Penny will bear some resemblance to his former self once he's back, but they are probably the club with the least "pop" in their bats in the whole league.

The Yanks completed a sweep of the Twins, earning sole possession of the second wild card slot.  Alexi Casilla made an absolutely bonehead play in the fourth or fifth in which he jogged off the field after making the second out of the inning at second base, failing to complete an easy inning-ending double play, and the Yanks put up two runs that they shouldn't have as a result.

Moose pitched 8 shutout innings, earning his 13th win and bringing his ERA down to 3.29.  I think I'm in love Heart

Through 6 innings the Royals have had 18 batters.  The Tigers lead 5-0 in top of the 7th.  This definitely isn't the same Royal's team that kicked the Tigers' butt up and down the field earlier this season.

Of course I know better then that.  The 19th hitter led off the 7th inning with a single for KC's first baserunner.  They went on to score a run and load the bases but fortunately Galarraga got out with limited damage.  Tigers lead 7-1 through 7 innings.

Word on the street is that Greg Maddux will be in a Dodger uniform by the trade deadline.
