I'm totally not surprised if nobody wants to read that.  I'm kinda a baseball nerd.

On the lighter side, the Dave Kingman Award, given annually to the player who "does the least with the most" and insists on negating high home run totals by countering them with a complete distaste for anything else productive.

I guess that wouldn't be a bad idea
But to be fair, alot of their pitching troubles are due to some, well lackluster performances/injuries

I honestly thought by now,  the Yanks would be working in a rotation of Wang, Pettite, Joba, Hughes, an Kennedy            but we see how that worked out....

It seems to me, though, that there isn't any good that can come out of that five-slot.  I guess Sidney Ponson could surprise us, but odds are a slot filled by Kei Igawa, Dan Guise, and Sidney Ponson isn't going to do a hell of a lot of good for the team.  Just have Moose, Pettite, Joba, and Rasner rotate and keep Guise and/or Ponson in the pen for long relief or doubleheaders or days where Moose and Pettite can't quite get loose on only four days rest.

I hear that Roger Clemens is still available. As well as Barry Bonds.

I do hope that Ponson works out for you guys. I guess his whole thing in StL was that he couldn't get along with LaRussa and Duncan. He was a good pitcher for the O's.

He's got some....issues, though.  He must have at least 3 or 4 DWI's under his belt, and he assaulted a judge in Aruba.  There's a reason he started out with two strikes in Texas.

They have plenty of time to get better in their careers. Just a matter of when.

Hughes has got the stuff to be a great pitcher, I don't know what he's doing wrong.  That curveball is a freaking work of art, yet he manages to post horrible, horrible numbers.

Well, with all these close games thank God Mariano is still a beast.
I mean, you saw the end today....the guy has been around how long and is still a shutdown closer

The most ridiculous thing is his K-to-BB ratio: 40:3!

I'm sorry to report back that Todd Jones had a blown save, giving up 4 runs in 2/3rds of an inning in the 9th inning.  Fortunately, the Tigers scored 2 in the bottom of the 9th to win 7 to 6.

I saw that.  That's impressively bad.

Jered Weaver threw 6 innings of no-hit ball and the Angels pulled him.  He hadn't even thrown 100 pitches yet.  Jerks.

That was quite a pitching duel in LA.  Between the two starters, 13 innings, 13 K's, 3 hits, and 0 earned runs.

Both on my fantasy team!

The Dodgers ended up winning that game without getting a hit.  It's only the fourth time in the modern era a team has done that.

And then they didn't even get the no-no because of it only being 8 innings.

Eh, nobody cares about no-hitters that aren't attributed to individuals anyways.

So the Rangers hit more runs than any team, but they give up more than any team...and they ARE playing the Yankees  so I Was looking foward to the scoring fest.
Instead, I sit through a 2-1 loss......... Cry

That was a tough loss.  It's OK to lose to the Rangers 10-9, but losing to them 2-1 is unacceptable.

My fantasy team just got brutalized by injuries.  Matsui, Ordonez, and Juan Pierre (second in the majors in steals) all hit the DL within 48 hours of each other.  While Chipper is hurt.

Yea its a double edged sword I mean......yea it's cool Mussina held the rangers to 2, but the Yanks only managed 1?? And on 4 hits I believe, awful......

And that sucks man, personally  I never could get into any of the fantasy things, but I never tried baseball.
I think I get too blinded by my favorites, like I KNOW my fantasy team would be pretty much all Yankees with maybe Albert Pujols  and like Ichiro Suzuki LOLLOLLOLLOLLOLLOL

The Tigers came from behind (4-1) and then held on to beat the Twins 5-4.  Joel Zumaya got the save, but the Twins had runners at 1st and 2nd in th bottom of the 9th with Joe Mauer at the plate.  Fortunately, he grounded out to end the game.
