Only temporarily 'til our usual room and board gets renovated.

We're couchsurfing here until then.

Girl Talk = great/amazing/free (aka pay what you want)
Tokyo Police Club = alright, didn't inspire me enough to finish it, even though it's only 16 minutes

I like the song Tessellate but hate that song where they keep mentioning the band name in the chorus.

That's a bit odd, but I don't see why everyone in there is complaining so much.

As well, the lack of internet lyrics for Area's 'L'elefante bianco' saddens me.

Greg Walker is selling a 4 CD Area compilation for $50.  Sold.  Cool

re: name, I think people would like some small measure of influence.  I guess I'm just surprised the old name generates so much ill will.

I don't even know what to think. I mean... both sides have their own measures of weirdness.

Also, Area rules. Lappy will back me up on this.

Area rule/rules. I was listening to their fourth or fifth album a little earlier and that one is excellent too.

they have all the "cream of the crop" ingredients, IE, their music is challenging but playful and not overprofessional, they have a *really* unique component - the guy's voice - they know when to experiment, they have an insane ten minute piece of music, etc, etc, etc. I sort of rank them alongside Magma, ze Cow and KC.

It'll all die down in time.

I've really got to put that Greg Walker order in, I want to get some Gilgamesh as well.

This sort of reminds me, my musical tastes have been so drastically altered this year that I think it's time to "rediscover" KC and see if they can take leap in my estimation, though I've always found LTiA and Red to be superb.  I don't own Lizard, Islands, or anything post Red.

OK, the new digs are ready.  Everyone clean up after themselves and thank STC/Anachronism for the temporary lodgings.
