I feel they're too different to compare I like both equally though. GIANT SQUID's "Summit" always makes my heart melt

Sweek is pretty inaccessable stuff, it will take time for it to brake in on me.

I got it simultaneously with YNDI HALDA 8 months ago, and it has clicked on me just few weeks ago. But they're really interesting, aren't they?

September Malevolence has a new one out called After the Darkness, There's a Next.

They have 4 tracks up on their myspace site http://www.myspace.com/septembermalevolence.  Sounds great.

Looks like the album was released in Europe May 30th.

Depends on who you ask.

I think post rock is a mixture of indie rock, and prog rock, to make a blend of emotive, yet "outside the box" kind of feel. If your into minimalistic stuff, definately try some out!

Are we heading for the same brick wall,
Is there anything we could do,
about anything at all,
Except go back to that corner in Manhattan,
and dig deeper,
dig deeper,
next time...

They are different sub genres here.Post Rock/Math Rock is one and Experimental/Post Metal is another.Read the very well written defintions for each sub genre for an explanation.

Agreed, it starts getting very emotive towards then end, I'm crazy happy with it now!

I saw the Homanfly were added to the archives, HEAVY! One of the heaviest bands I've heard in awhile.

Dont be too sceptical, the album turns inot a mixture of Takk and ( ), creating semi happy ambient post rock, and it rocks!
