I hope Yndies are clever enough not to become just another Indie sh!te (sorry for pun)

I'd definitely  agree with you in on this.

... terrible were my first thoughts, I'm hoping the rest of the album takes a drastically different approach.

btw, I can't believe no one heard of THE EVPATORIA REPORT! I posted a review today, and mine was just the first wordy one and the second rating! The "Golevka" album was released in 2005, just few months before YNDI HALDA's one, and it carries almost the same music! In Post-Rock circles there's even a rivalry between YH and TER fans (like DEEP PURPLE vs LED ZEPPELIN one, ha-ha ). Check it! They promise second album this year too!

I have, but my reviews are not something to behold so it is usually better when I keep my trap shut. I picked up Golevka back in '05; brought near 50 post rock albums that year :S. A very strong year for the genre. My recollections are rather hazy, but the fact I still remember the name is a good sign. I will have to put it in the player to refresh the memory. I think they were one of the bands I suggested for the site a sometime ago.

yep, 2005 brought so many bands to genre's forefront (Neo-Post-Rock? ) And I don't think you write bad reviews (I have more uglier ones, and each one has some I believe). Such shyness leads to unreviewed albums and lack of attention to such overlooked bands

Their myspace, apparently theres also a nudigraphic video to it as well.

Blood inside is crazy innaccesible, completely defied my expectations, it will take some time before I can make a credible opinion.

Also, I loved the new Sigur Ros fan. It reminded me of Animal Collective. Sounds like a cool new direction, but I can see why some don't like it.

thanks for amazing review, Ian! You've noticed some details (dropped tuning and guitar effects), that no one did before! Nice to read this, it's fully professional!

btw, has anyone heard SWEEK from Belgium?

Sweek is a great band.  Have a couple of their albums.  Good stuff.
