I starting wearing mine during my 'wild' college days when I loved to drag race.. one time I nearly hyrdoplaned off a bridge while foolishly losing badly to a crotch rocket LOL

... I started wearing one.. two weeks later... I put my roomates Firebird into a tree at 85 mph (I thought the sign that said 15 mph curve was lying) Walked away.. well into an ambulance to have a 6 inch gash in my head sown up thanks to the windshield exploding on impact.

It's the law here in Missouri, too; but, doesn't mean everyone abides by it.

I grew up with wearing seat belts so it's always been second nature.

I'm not a fan of tickets either.

I also plan on wearing ATGATT when I get my bike, but that's
another issue all together.

Well the law just began within the last 1.5 years in MO. Most are not used to it still, such as myself, but I try.

I atarted wearing it in 1984 when I was returning home from a party with my best friend and our two girlfriends (who were sisters) when a drunk guy hitted the pílot door of my VW with an old Impala (luckily that night I was with antibiotics, so I didn't had a drink and could react).

I flew by the door and after me came my friend who was in the back seat behind the co-pilot who was my GF (Don't ask me how because I know it defies physics

). I lost conciousness for a couple of seconds and woke in the pavement just to see my car advancing towards us, I managed to pull my friend off the way of the car (he was drunk as a raising), before I lost conciousness again due to the pain in my right side.

I had 5 broken ribs, one of them almost touching my lung (luckily again, stoped less than one CM before the lung).

The doctor told me that if that broken rib would had gone one centimeter more, probably I would had died before reaching the hospital, so he just pull the rib to it's place (hurts a lot), gave some pain killers and that was all (Had top sleep seated for a week), my friend had a few scratches and our girlfriends were only scared.

That day I knew that the next time probably wouldn't be so lucky, so started to use the seatbelt even to go to the next block.

Now it's the law in Perú and a lot of people have problems, but I'm so used, that I feel naked when not using it.

I've been the law in Aus to wear one for quite a while, so yeah, I've always worn one.

Yes. Having taken the quick way out through the windscreen during a collision with a tree in my youth (no - I wasn't driving and the car had no seatbelts) suffering a broken nose, concussion and multiple lacerations (I was lucky, actually), having to take my A levels 2 days later (nearly cost me my place at Cambridge) and feeling crap for some time, I even put it on if I move the car 5m down the drive.

Besides, it's the law in the UK and you get points on your licence and a fine. Why would anyone NOT wear one? Are they keen to win a Darwin Award?

has anyone ever been pulled over JUST for not wearing them.. well then again.. none of us should be able to answer that ..right? LOL
