It's the bass track for a song he wrote called Morning.  Not even after practicing a little can I play that thing.

Nah, I just wikipedia'd Laplace and that came up.  Damned if I have any idea what that thing means--though I do go to one of the finest high schools in the nation.

one of the pedals is so fussy that it can only be played by someone wearing spiked stilletoes
you can assign each pad a ridiculous sample and change its pitch and stuff
kinda neato, but I drum even less well than I formats posts

My kit is a 6 piece TAMA Bubinga starclassic, previously owned by Bruford. The finish is black with a gold stripe down the centre. It's a sexy piece of sh*t.

It cost me $3200 or $3500 in Canuck dollars, so yeah, that's some serious coin.

Sweet - in my youth I went crazy accumulating all this sh*t like roto-toms, double pedals, and china-type cymbals, but now I would take a "less is more" attitude.

Yeah, sometimes I want to strip 'er down. The drums, I find, are extremely big, and as you know, Bubinga is an extremely heavy wood, and because of that I find it horribly difficult to get everything exactly where I want it. Also, the way I have everything set up right now kind of awkward. And it's been about a month now with my toms all out of tune, because they're so goddamn hard to tune. I get so frustrated with it that I haven't practiced in almost a month. Every time I sit down to play some, I start tweaking, getting angry, and leave it alone. It's pissing me off.
