Indeed. The part about Geddy swapping basses during the S&A tour was quite interesting. I was glad to see him use a couple of different Fender Jazz's as well as the good old Rickebacker - turns out we owe that at least partly to his techie... Wink

I was actually triggered into this because somebody on the Dutch bass guitar forum (basgitaarforum.nl, all in Dutch) mentioned that the bass player of Rage Against the Machine is a Rush fan - and one who had found out that Geddy's way of playing bass with one finger (instead of two fingers or a pick) is part of the secret of his pulsating bass sound. Prog has influences beyond the expected.... Of course, the damaged nail on Geddy's finger is another part of the trick that is unique to him, but still.
