Indeed. The part about Geddy swapping basses during the S&A tour was quite interesting. I was glad to see him use a couple of different Fender Jazz's as well as the good old Rickebacker - turns out we owe that at least partly to his techie...  I was actually triggered into this because somebody on the Dutch bass guitar forum (basgitaarforum.nl, all in Dutch) mentioned that the bass player of Rage Against the Machine is a Rush fan - and one who had found out that Geddy's way of playing bass with one finger (instead of two fingers or a pick) is part of the secret of his pulsating bass sound. Prog has influences beyond the expected....
