James, check out *shels, they're a lot more up close and personal like The Pax Cecilia.
Dahtura kind of runs in the same vein as Jakob, very earthy and atmospheric. I really am digging both of them, but after listening to Jakobs incredible song Lonesome, I'm gonna give the winng prise to them.

I loved it!
So, this hread has been relatively innactive for the past week or so, what happened?
I've been concentrating 50% of my musical time towards choirs of the eye, it just clicked with me, and I love it! 30% towards a Sivler mount Zion for obvious reasons, and 20% towards Krobak.
I want Dowsing the anenome

another convert!!! love Choirs with a passion. . . i got Dowsing a few weeks back and its very hit or miss. letting it grow. ive also listened to my other 5 or so CDs that i ordered at the same time just enough to have a decent opinion of them. - Russian Circles - Enter. pretty good. i like it. thats about it. I dont hear anything extra special here. only at listen #4 ish or so. - 65daysofstatic. one for all time- awesome. Heavily melodic post rock meets aphex twin spastic drum machine, meets math rock complexity and energy. i dont know how to classify this but its beautiful stuff. - Kayo Dot - Dowsing - cant rate this yet but its gotten a preliminary album rating of 3 stars with a few 4 star and 5 star songs. Wolves in the Throne Room two hunters - 4 out of 5. great black metal, gets a little samesy but the female vocals are great, the atmosphere is lush, and the songs are, well.. black metal. i like.
... i thought i had more. somewhat sad.

I kind of felt the same way with russian circles. They remind me of explosions in the sky, even though theyre sound is pretty original, it's the only sound they have, so it's gonna be very same soundy.
65daysofstatic, I dont own any
Kayo Dot, just got Dowsing the anenome, and I' SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited to listen to it.
Wolves in the throne room, once again I feel like you, even though it is pretty samey, the lush and organic feel just makes the music that more intense (probably because it was recorded on tape).

^ agreed Aura is amazing. i dont know if i like Gemini that much, its too... noisey and the vocals put me on edge, much like an uncomfortable or embarrassing moment in a movie. makes me squirm. dont like that.

wow, that should mean some reviewing I guess
I like Dowsing Anemone far more than Choirs, it sounds as if late TALK TALK were an ex-Doom-Metal band rather than an ex-Synth-Pop one
but motW owns them all!!! *fan*

Yes just barely edges Maudlin as my favirote band of all time, all the songs on LYBM, and Bath are just so raw and emotional, the band almost completely perfect! Kayo Dot is also risisng in my list fast, Choirs of the eye is a masterpiece, and Dowsing is pretty damn good. I'm gonna have to disagree with you two about the opener of dowsing, it's so eerie and gutwrenching, when driver screams the word gemini it literally sent a shiver down my spine.
I got some 65daysofstatic.

65daysofstatic is a little too high maitenance, I mean the music is great, but I doubt I'll pump them up too often cause of theyre high energy. This is only my first listen though, so who knows, maybe with time, they'll grow on me.
I love the electronica effects!

I like they're sound, but it will be hard for me to take all of that action pcked sound in one album at a time. Really a superb band. And besides, I just got done listening to Aod for the first time, and that just made the album SOOOOOOO much better, and the last song is sounding great as well!
