Ithink both Kayo Dot and Russian circles are playing on the weekend of south by southwest, our second most famoust music fest behind austin city limits. This may be a good or bad thing...
Anyone going to the festival? I think Chipacah and I are the only people in hear who even live in Texas, but I figure I might as well ask. |
If only I could

Wow, I just slaughtered Thirteen blues for thirteen moons rating, seriously it went down an entire point. You guys need to start reviewing, geez, every ASMZ album is in the low and mid three's now.

Hey GS, I just listened to some of your songs again today. Great stuff, when are you gonna cut an album? |
Thanks man! Well, we're still writing new stuff all the time, and we have about 6 or 7 songs in nearly finished form. Right now we're more concentrating on playing out and getting in with the local scene. Our first show is in a couple weeks and should be cool, but we can only play 4 songs in a 25 minute set, and we'll be on first. Really excited tho! It's kind of like our coming out party. The songs on the myspace are some recordings we did back in december, but we're not really happy with how the rest turned out. We're probably going to try and record some more solid stuff over the summer and make an EP.

dude that was harsh! Admittedly, my review for that album is too high, and my review for Panopticon too low, but it's still a kickass record!

ugghh, no atmosphere, Tool drumming, weird guitar arpeggios.
No.
I was about to give Panopticon it's four star review, but I'm too tired now.

In that case you are probably going to seriously dislike Panopticon, and I have very little doubt that you are going to absolutely HATE oceanic.
Please dont review Oceanic if you do...

Panopticon is their most accesible, not as good as oceanic IMO, but you'll probably like it more, if you like it at all.
Two hunters first song is intense!

Well let see. *shels, Envy, Russian Circles, The Pax Cecilia. At least those are the ones that I liked the most from the ones I've heard.

So you like some of the more outlandish, against the grind post metal eh?
Grayceon
Giant Squid
Conifer (be wary)
Maudlin of the well (cause everyone trie em', and everyone loves 'em)
The morningside
Omega Massif
Pelican
The bolded ones you will certainly like. You have to get Pelican, simply because you are not a complete post metal fan without any of their albums.
I'm also pretty sure all those bands are here on the archives!

I've heard Gracyceon and Giant Squid (which I noticed that have a certain Post Metal influence). About Maudlin Of the Well I only have Bath.I've also heard Kyo Dot Choirs Of An Eye which is a pretty intresting album. Heard Omega Massif and didn't liked them that much. As for the other two haven't heard them. Last thing I heard about Post Metal was *shels but after that haven't heard anything new and good about it.

Isis. Just because they invented post metal.
Nuerosis, Isis, and Pelican all try and take the cred for that, but we know who the real champeens are.
Anyway, you a post rock fan? Cause I know just about as much of that as post metal.
