damn... never ever saw or heard of the first one... unless...  was it the movie with Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Anniston in  it?  I don't remember that song in the movie

LOL Nice try, Micky. Guitar Hero is a video game franchise. Basically it's Dance Dance Revolution with guitars, and people waste away their time playing fake guitar instead of learning how to do it for real. It's very sad, actually.

Rubbish! It's great fun, even if it is much harder than playing guitar for real. I don't play computer games because of an addiction to Lemmings many years ago, but I make an exception for music-based games like Guitar Hero or Amplitude.

Sorry to inform you, A B, but it's the other way around. It takes much more skill to play a REAL guitar well.
Now I'm not saying that people shouldn't play Guitar Hero at all, I just firmly believe that they shouldn't play and "practice" it to the extent of... Kyle and Stan in South Park, for example LOL.

I find it harder to play GH because it's a controller that looks a little like a guitar but it feels totally different from a real guitar.

The controller is about the same size as a ukelele (my main guitar is a Gretsch semi-acoustic).

There's no scope to add any individuality when you play GH, it has to be exactly as the game wants it., no improvising.

No playing ahead of or after the beat.

Hitting one note on the controller to play a phrase on the game is really strange to me.

And there's no strings!

But it's still fun to play and I've bought my other half GH3 with a wireless controller as a Crimbo present. Big%20smile

I saw a list of 500 songs by RS and there are some songs included on the list that it's hard to believe and some great songs that were not included that makes me wonder. And I'm not talking about Prog.

Hating Guitar Hero because people play it instead of a real guitar is just kind of missing the point. True, some people take an insane amount of pride in how good they are at pressing buttons on a plastic, guitar-shaped controller, but a lot of people just play it because it's fun as hell, where a real guitar is more frustrating.

Also, before I got the first Guitar Hero, I liked the Beatles, The Beach Boys, Floyd, Zeppelin, and that was pretty much it. Guitar Hero and Rock Band have introduced me to great bands like Kansas, Rush, Boston, Iron Maiden, Asia, .38 Special, and more. It's a completely new way to experience music.

I'm glad this song got on the list; it's a fantastic song from the greatest Beatle.

I'm baffled by the lack of some songs like, "Foreplay/Long Time," "American Pie," and "2112,"  which I thought would be shoo-ins.

I feel some bands should have had different songs chosen.

Beatles - "Hey Jude" I Want You (She's So Heavy)
Bob Dylan - "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" Idiot Wind
Guns N' Roses - "Estranged" Civil War
Led Zeppelin - "When the Levee Breaks" The Rain Song
Pink Floyd - "Sheep" Dogs or Echoes

And some songs that I personally would've liked to see

Deep Purple - "Child in Time"
Iron Maiden - "Rime of the Ancient Mariner"
Jimmy Eat World - "23"
Kansas - "The Pinnacle"
The Outlaws - "Green Grass & High Tides"

For what it's worth, my friend told me she got a copy of a British magazine that placed Porcupine Tree in the Top 10 metal albums of 2007.
