Igor, here are some melodic post metal bands tham you may enjoy...

Omega Massif*

From oceans to autumn*

Isis (The best harsh vocals in post metal IMO)

Latitudes*

Russian Circles*

Souvinirs young america*

* =instrumental

Thanks for recommendations, Ian

RUSSIAN CIRCLES are great, but doubtfully that much metal

ISIS...aah, tough one I heard "Oceanic", enjoyable but these vocals...which album is more instrumental-oriented?

Panopticon, the vocals feel more like a background instrument then at the forefront.

Definately Panopticon, the growling is more of just a mood setter to boost the energy. Oceanic's "yelling" is a lot less powerful than the serene singing and growling of Panopticon. If you liked Hym on oceanic, thats basically pan in a nutshell, but with slower parts, climaxes ect...

Hold on, did you even listen to weight on oceanic?

Listened to ISIS "In The Absence Of Truth" yesterday (few months after I rated their "Oceanic" with 3 stars). Nice. Gotta check "Panopticon" soon aw well.

This is because I've found a friend obsessed with Sludge/Post-Metal I gave him some Post-Rock stuff in return...feeding each other

^ ItAoT was my fav. release last year. I noticed the mention of some new music being written by them on their website yesterday. They reached kinda of a peak to me in their style of music with ItAoT so i can hardly wait to hear what they do next. (hopefully they'll release something next year)

Anyone here a fan of Negura Bunget? Their latest album is very "post metal" imo and i think they'd gain alot more attention in the PM sub genre. I ripped some of their songs onto mp3 a while back ago; i was thinking of submitting them to the site but i'm not sure how. (i'll read up on that)

Negura Bunget has been one of the bands in my "to get" list (Yep. The list is pretty big). I'll keep an eye out for them. Oh! And by the way, they're already here in PA: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=2926

Wow fellas, just listened listened to "Leaving Your Body Map" by MotW for the first time... truly amazing. After hearing the sample on the site, i wasn't sure what to think but now that i've heard the album... just, wow. Beautiful & creative compositions.

The album is out of print i think. (i see one copy on amazon for an outrageous price) I was able to find some mp3's of it on the web but the more i start to adore the music, the more they just won't suffice.

Leaving Your Body Map is far accessible (if this word suits motW in any way ), I like it much more. Need to gather my thoughts to write a decent 5-stars review

So, I finally got The Pax Cecilia's album in the mail last night...

...And I am totally blown away!  I've been listening to it nonstop all day in the car and at work.  Amazing songwriting and style, and plenty of true progressive attitude.

5 stars easily, I would say.

I dunno, it dosent grip me as much as it should.

The tre is an excellent display of post metal power, and he Tragedy is beautiful as fr as songwriting goes. Otherwise I dont really understand it.

Well, the thing is, I think the album has poor song placement.

You have the tragedy, a piano driven opener, then right after that you have an almost identicle song. Then the hard core song comes in, then it's followed by another.

Theres no space between similar songs.
