I'm really looking forward to this Friday as Crysis is finally being released, I can already feel my PC starting to panic.
Until then I've got Overlord, Dawn of War and Sam and Max Season 2 Episode 1 to keep me amused. |

Still on Baldur's Gate II and Fallout. All these years, and my loyalty remains unwavering.

Just been going through some old classics. Who remembers Rayman for the PSX? Such a good 2d platformer, and what a great proggy soundtrack!

Would you like to watch TV, or get between the sheets, or contemplate the silent freeway, would you like something to eat?

I hope you have a HDTV....It looks great in SDTV, but GOD DOES IT LOOK GREAT in 1366x768 or 1920x1080! A little bit on the depressibng side, but the graphics...man!
The game is just OK for me. The graphics do it all.
I insist... BIOSHOCK.

^ That game doesn't need a good TV to look amazing! It has the best graphics I've ever seen!

Yes but the problem with Cysis is the sheer demands on a PC, thankfully my PC can handle it on very high graphics settings, but a lot of people are stuck with medium and low settings. |

I'm eager to play a PC game which - once again - outclasses any current console game in terms of visual perfection:

I'm eager to play a PC game which - FOR ONCE - doesn't demand me to spend 12635 USD to make my computer as powerful as possible... till the next week....

Well, it's actually not *that* expensive. My computer is 2 1/2 years old and just a few weeks ago I downloaded the Valve Orange Box and played Half Life 2: Episode 2, Portal and Team Fortress 2 without any problems. And the computer wasn't top of the line back when I bought it ... But it's true that every 3 years you need to upgrade, and a computer upgrade is more expensive than buying a new console. But if you take into account that you usually upgrade your computer anyway every 2-3 years, the actual difference is the graphics card, and even the top of the line cards are well in the range of the current consoles. |

Man... I just got a 360 last week.
I've been using it for Guitar Hero 3 (of course!), and I'm going to get Halo 3 soon, too.
I'll have to read back in this thread some for some recommendations.
I don't like the FPS genre too much, though Halo is pretty cool, it's probably the only one I'll buy. I'll be looking for more RPG/adventure type stuff (I with they made God of War for Xbox!), but I'll definitely be getting the new Beautiful Katamari game

Every 3 years? It's been a slow gradual series of upgrades for my PC. I built it in October last year and since then have replaced the motherboard twice, upgraded the graphics card (Nvidia 7600GT to Nvidia 8800GTS), added a hard drive, replaced the power supply and added an extra 2Gb of RAM. Yet after all that I can only just play Crysis on very high settings, hopefully once the game has been optimised some more the performance will be a bit better. |
