Bands you just can't stand...

Hinder - The only reason I know who they are is because they play the awful "lips like an angel" in my exercise class and everyone is always like "oh, who is that? it's really good".  Meanwhile I want to pull my hair out by the follicles!  I'm here to exercise, not to be tortured.

Anyway I like Billy Joel! I do not know what the hates about. I think he has classy tunes about real stuff with good lyrics and nice piano. Whats wrong with that? His solo piano stuff is not bad either, but I think it is only compositional and not played.

I do not like Nickleback. I cannot tell the difference between their songs and since the template is generic anyways, that does not bode well for them.

Prince is an amazing guitarist. incredible work ethic.

Though I don't think my opinion counts a lot, I believe the forum would benefit from an absence of such negative threads. There is a lot of music I can't stand, I don't find any pleasure in bashing it - I am here in order to talk about the music I LIKE, and to learn about new or obscure acts.

As David's above post shows quite clearly, we are ready to dismiss as bad something we don't like, when instead we are dealing with somebody who are very good at what they do. We may not like Frank Sinatra's music, but I think no one can deny he had an amazing voice.

I haven't been able to tolerate U2 since The Joshua Tree.  Bono's ego got the best of me and ruined their music.
