Peppers may be way over now, but BSSM is still an awesome album. As is Frusciante's solo DC EP, beautiful pop rock.

I'm not a huge Peppers fan either; however, the song "Warped" from One Hot Minute freakin' smokes!!! Chad Smith is just a monster on the kit. E |

Frusciante is a superb guitarist. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q43hsCIBSnQ
Psychedelic Funk, I tell you. RHCP is a great band. Too much hype around it, though. |

Dave Matthews. If my rage at this man could be harnessed, we would be free of foreign oil

Yes, Lynard Skynard is an abomination. They have no redeeming value whatsoever. |

I have on occasions purchased gig tickets from Ticketmaster, so get frequent emails from them regarding up-coming gigs. Today's had the subject line: "Don't miss James Blunt"
Well, okay. It's been a while since I last used a rifle, but an order is an order I guess.

Ok, load your guns and point them here:
Yes. I went through buying 15 of their albums before it hit me. Now I can't listen to them at all. I just can't. I find myself pulling my hair out everytime I hear mr. anderson torturing the cat on the records. Fragile is still in my top 10 album list, but I just can't listen to it. |

Working at a place that plays "classic rock" all day can ruin lots of former favorite songs. Familiarity not only breeds contempt, it is contempt.

I can't stand pretty much any rock band formed in the last 20 years: espeically emo bands. Something about rich teenagers complaining about their lives infuriates me. |

Guns'n'Roses... Muse... Blink 182... Hives... This whole MTV/Punk-rock/silly/c**p music made by poeple who do not feel anything I think. They just want to make money!!!
Erasure... George Michael... Ok, let's keep it rock...
Some of so called "southern rock "legends" who are just money machines xeroxing themselves and others.
Yeah, then the whole style called Grindcore It's so baaaaad that it's not even funny.
And has someone heard of atrocity called TOKIO HOTEL??????

T said that it has to be a rock band
after reading all the pages of this thread and after a long thought (<1 min) I came to the conclusion: U2 (even if I have some respect for the Joshua Tree) I can't stand listening to them... sorry |

I wish my brother didn't listen to Lamb of God, I can't tolerate them at all. Their music is excessively heavy (in my view), the vocals sound terrible, and the lyrics are very vulgar.

All my friends get pissed at me for admitting my dislike for Skynyrd. I had the style to begin, but objectively, they didn't do anything overly interesting or unique. And they talked bad about Neil Young, to boot. Those dicks. |

Queen, I am sorry for saying this they are not my cup of tea. They were to bombastic for me. They overplay and oversing everything they did. There is no balance in their music. The one reason I like Floyd is they are experimental but they have the right balance of progressive and pop rock in there music.

YES!!!! I have even heard THEM... A song my 12-year-old niece (who of course is mad about them) inflicted that to me a couple of months ago. It seems she's going to see them live in January when they 'play' here in Rome. The singer not only looks like a woman, he sounds like one... As to the original question, in prog there is little I really can't stand as such. I don't particularly like Dream Theater, but I will occasionally listen to one or two of their albums, and I'm willing to give anything at least a chance. However, I have always loathed all kinds of melodic pop, especially the Italian variety - and that in spite of the stereotype according to which women love 'romantic' music. |

The nice thing about prog is if really can't stand an artist you don't have to listen to one, and if don't listen to radio, no artists will be forced on to you to the point of detesting them.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...
