Uh... if it happens it'll be unfair also with Massa who was the fastest guy in the race and had the best car but opened for his team mate winning.

Morally the title is Hamilton's. He's had his season derailed by his arrogant and unsporting co-driver Alonso. Alonso has behaved despicably to his young team mate. I hope he doesnt get a drive next season, he's certainly out of McClaren. Imagine blackmailing your own team like he did - if you wrote the story in a novel people would say it was unrealistic, yet it happened.

Reading the Braz newspapers now... race officials saw nothing with BMW and Williams fuel and so Kimi may celebrate his title.

British fanboy ![]() ![]() But I do agree....there's NO way to twist it Hamilton was the best driver this year. He deserved the title. However, it's obvious how I like Finnish drivers so personally I am very happy with the championship. Again congrats to Kimi (maybe this title is not quite the way it should've gone down, but I think he already should've been champ) sooo it's even now. What a season |

Its still not over. McLaren are to appeal the stewards decision not to punish Williams and BMW over fuel irregularities in an attempt to get the three cars ahead of Hamilton thrown out.
http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=41157 This is getting a bit silly, as much as I'd like to see Hamilton win the title, the season finished yesterday, I dont want it to finish in a court room |

I agree. I didn't want the title to be won this way (it's clear that Massa could've won the race had he wanted to) but taking the situation to a courtroom is not the way to win a championship. ![]() |

You mean Ferrari finally got a lucky revenge (it was a bit unexpected) but Raikkonen did win 6 races, compared to Hamilton's four and Alonso's four). Afte all the FIAA was making rules to stop Ferrari winning in their Schumacher days. Hamilton will most likely not confirm (as had Monoya a few years go)
As for Alonso, McLaren was disgracious (almost as much as Malcolm was
![]() The sad part is that they released Alonso three days after resigning Massa and Raikkonnen, and now Alonso doesn't have a competitive seat. They would've done it on purpose, they wouldn't have done it differently.

Hamilton has effectively been their for 10 years, Alonso was the new boy in the team, and both drivers got equale treatment in regards to race equipment and chances to use it. However, it was no secret that by the end McLaren would definitely have prefered Hamilton winning the title instead of Alonso, after all, I dont remember Hamilton trying to blackmail the team into giving him preferential treatment or spouting off about percieved injustices to the home press. |

Yes, I really hope ot dosn't end in courts. Would you really want your boy Hamilton to win it that way?
And Sleeper brigns up an interesting point...never looked at it that way (Alonso being the newcomer). Besides Hamilton STILL performed better I think.
And I'm still glad Kimi FINALLY got that title.
![]() ![]() I still honestly think Raikkonen is the best DRIVER. When it comes to straight up skill I don't think you can beat him. Just needs to get some consistency.... Edited by JJLehto - October 22 2007 at 14:31 |

Kimi was the best driver and thoroughly deserved the title. He's always been an incredible talent and truly showed what it means to never give up. Also a nice guy with a good amount of humour in him as well, this is just great and (almost) the whole country is celebrating along with him.
Hamilton needn't feel too bad about it; he has so many years ahead of him and surely he'll win the championship in the near future. |

Although it would ahve been nice for Hamilton to win in his Rookie season he has plenty more years ahead of him and I'm sure that he will win sometime soon. Raikkonen deserved to win this year and I don't think that Massa let him through either. Raikkonen was right behind him when Massa pitted and put in some quick laps so that he was ahead after both had pitted.
As regards the fuelling issue I don't think that it would be fair on anyone or do the sport any good if Hamilton was to get the title that way. McLaren lost Hamilton the title with that poor tyre decision in China. If he had completed that race in a points paying position he would have been world champion fair and square. Also if his car hadn't had mechanical problems this weekend he would have probably have been third or fourth and also won the championship.
As for Alonso I certainly don't think that he deserves anything after his behavior. He was heavily involved in the Ferarri spying scandal and probably cost McLaren the constructor's title.
Let's hope for an exciting and clean season next year.

That's for sure.I remember a few years back when he was on McLaren he was LOADED up with fuel and still was qualifying 2nd and 3rd every time. IMO the only guy of them he could truly go head to head with MS.
Always been a Kimi fan, congrats man!

There are mechanics at McLaren that swear he is the fastest driver they have ever seen, and these are people that have worked with Lauda, Prost, Senna and Hakkinen. |

^ Damn, that's quite a claim....
Well I know it's all in retrospect and "what if" but I do think Kimi should've won the title in 2003, and possibly 2005. |

Max Mosley has just added another nail to his coffin, he has publicly admitted that in the opinion of the FIA Ferrari is the most important team in F1.
Full interview here. In my opinion this proves just how unfit the FIA is to govern world motorsport. Mosley should stand down now and let someone who is truly impartial take over. |
