Just because you're a 'senior member' or a 'newbie' it doesn't mean you're any less worthy.

I don't know about you guys, but I can do that anyways.  I just log into the colab zone with my forum identification and it takes me to a page where I can do that stuff.  I don't think you need a fourth star to do that.

EDIT: I can't have a profile since I have only 3 stars, but I can still edit my reviews.

Correct!

Before I became a PR, I did that alot to improve my earlier reviews and I think that helped me alot on the way for getting my promotion. It also helped my reviewing style.

Seriously?

Mind you, you deserve credit for your perceptive interpretation of "Watcher of the Skies" - "it's about a watcher of the skies". Brilliant.
My review of ctte is horendous I know! It was a very early review for me...not sure what I was thinking. It basically says nothing! Thanks for noticing my brilliance on my foxtrot reviewSmile. My latest reviews are much longer and are broken into paragraphs. I've also tried to cut down on errors and such. For my college English classes, I NEVER make mistakes, but here, well, I tend to let things slideSmile Compare my earliest reviews to my most recent and see the difference!

The best you can is good enough...

^^Go back and edit them then, or ask an admin to delete them so you can re-write them entirely.

You can do that? Hmmm...many of my early reviews should be deleted! I'll have to sort through them...I'm afraid most of them do not meet my new standards...

I have realized the grim truth...all, but 4 of my 27 reviews are substandard. Sooo much wasted time! Well, that's what it took to get me to being the decent reviewer i've become. If any of the admins see this, could you please help! Somehow, I need all, but my 4 most recent reviews deleted (all except foxtrot, trespass, in a glass house, and the power and the glory). I intend to replace them all with superior reviews, doing them the justice they deserve. I guess i'm no prog reviewer yet, but by the time I re-write my first 23 reviews, I will be! If anybody can help, I would be very greatful!Smile

Well, hey buddy! You got another sympathetic vote!

Help you...how? Become a reviewer? I think only you can do that. Just stick with the big guys, and play nice. Help you write? Well, my already impressive ego is always up for a w**k if you want some friendly advice that way.

I need someone with the power to erase a large portion of my reviews...they're crap! Well, not all of them, but I could do better! Only the 4 most recent are decent, acceptable and dilectable, enlightening not frightening, well...you get it. Look at my early reviews and then check my 4 most recent. Am I even the same person?

Yeah, I had a similar relevation recently meself. Naturally, I did nothing to fix it, but complained instead.

Uh, you know that you CAN edit your own reviews, right? Just click on the collaborators link, log into your account, view your reviews, and then just cut and fix them to your hearts content.

Coincidentally, do you write your reviews on the spot, or do you write 'em up in Microsoft Word or some such program first?

I'll try fixing them myself...ugh...can't someone do it for me?LOL FINE! I'll do it myself! Really, I just want to erase them and start from scratch. I have always written them on the spot, but I'm going to write them in microsoft word from now on. It makes more sense that way...I think some of my reviews suffered due to interuptions and since I couldn't save them, I'd just try to finish 'em real quick. That's no good is itEmbarrassed.

Earlier this week Glass House proposed (in Erik Neuteboom's lesser known bands thread) to start a thread where PRs advice non-PRs on how to write/improve their reviews. Drop these two a PM, there may be some advice waiting for you there...

The thread's not there yet. That's why I suggested sending a PM to Erik or Tony (Glass House).

Me too.... I have the key to success: find a coherent review-structure that you can always follow, that will help you perfect it and once you've mastered it you can focus in improving the actual content and grammar.... Then, even if you haven't achieved the latter goals like some of usTongue, you can start to write long reviews and then, voila, when you have a good number of reviews of varied artists, you'll be a reviewer...

Oh, and answering the poll, NO... until he writes a 5-star review of the right group and a 1-star review of the right band....Tongue

Easy for you to say Mr. Post-Rock Team

You really think I want that text there? I'd much prefer just being Jimbo, to be honest. It used to say 'post-rock specialist', but I asked Tony to change it to 'team', because I thought it was embarassing as I'm actually the furthest thing from a specialist of any sort. The text is there for practical purposes, so that people will know who to contact regarding post-rock related submissions/things.

I'm just joking around Jimbo. I guess I should have thrown a 'Wink' after my comment.

Ah, alright. The emoticons do come in handy since it's always a bit difficult to tell whether someone is joking or not when you can't see their facial expressions. Embarrassed

The fact that non-collabs can edit their reviews was definitely news to me, I wonder if the admins are aware of this.

I noticed I also can do that. I reported it (http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=40806) and it's definitely a bug that will be fixed in the near future. Smile
