Personally, lately I always do care of my reviews to get over the 400 words. I think that's also an important thing to consider if you wanna be a prog reviewer.

Two good points, but although a longer review usually means more informative content, take the first piece of advice before the second. You almost certainly should think about reviewing 2 or 3 albums from at least 12 to 13 (if not all) of the genres.

Shows promise but has a way to go yet.
Use of capital letters for names, use of paragraphs, referring to songs by their titles rather than "Track 1". This critique of CTTE doesn't really say much

"The first track alone is worth the price! Track 2 is excellent, but doesn't quite match the title track, but that song was practically perfect! Track 3, the shortest number, is a really good song. It's not too lengthy and full of musical excellence, which is characteristic of yes."

Mind you, you deserve credit for your perceptive interpretation of "Watcher of the Skies" - "it's about a watcher of the skies". Brilliant.

I have a hard time understanding why it's such a big deal to the lot of you to become prog reviewers. All you get is a mention under your name 'prog reviewer' and the ability to write your own profile/edit your reviews. There's no glory, just a silly title. Just because you're a 'senior member' or a 'newbie' it doesn't mean you're any less worthy.

I'm surprised at how easily I became a reviewer now that I think about it...My reviews aren't particularily spectacular and I wasn't a huge forum user (then) and I didn't even ask! Now I feel special!Big%20smile

And that's not true^^^, the ability to edit/rewrite old reviews is a mammoth aid. Not to mention, your self-esteem and self-respect go sky-high!

We're not sure you could survive the brutal initiation rites.  Involves Lord Voldemort.  Very painful.  Evil%20Smile

On that topic, Voldemort actually endorses my band so I could skip that step. Still had to do the part with the knives and the skeletal corpses, though.

I don't know about you guys, but I can do that anyways.  I just log into the colab zone with my forum identification and it takes me to a page where I can do that stuff.  I don't think you need a fourth star to do that.

EDIT: I can't have a profile since I have only 3 stars, but I can still edit my reviews.

Easy for you to say Mr. Post-Rock Team

Sorry, I should watch my mouth, I wouldn't have appreciated things like that I had a meager 3 stars.

You really think I want that text there? I'd much prefer just being Jimbo, to be honest. It used to say 'post-rock specialist', but I asked Tony to change it to 'team', because I thought it was embarassing as I'm actually the furthest thing from a specialist of any sort. The text is there for practical purposes, so that people will know who to contact regarding post-rock related submissions/things.

I'm just joking around Jimbo. I guess I should have thrown a 'Wink' after my comment.

Thanks for the heads up! I had no idea. I just went back through all my reviews and corrected the typos. Maybe that will increase my chances of being promoted.

Correct!

Before I became a PR, I did that alot to improve my earlier reviews and I think that helped me alot on the way for getting my promotion. It also helped my reviewing style.

Ah, alright. The emoticons do come in handy since it's always a bit difficult to tell whether someone is joking or not when you can't see their facial expressions. Embarrassed

The fact that non-collabs can edit their reviews was definitely news to me, I wonder if the admins are aware of this.

For me, I was a more productive reviewer when I wasn't a collaborator. I've lost motivation, and now it's considered a good month for reviewing if I can produce 3 or 4 reviews.

Oh, hahaha. LOL And if you think I'm a specialist in Neo-Prog for one second, your dead wrong. LOL I know quite a few Neo bands that grate my ears like no other, but I happen to be one of the few people that like the genre, hence I'm here.
