We -need- progressive rap.

First of all, don't call me a music snob. You don't know me so stop the presumptions and insults.

Second, where did you find all those "facts" that you're talking about? The last time I checked African Drumlines are music. Rhythm is music. It's one of the three fundamental elements in music (others being harmony and melody, but you already know that), but rhythm is the only essential element of the three and, no, drums aren't the only instrument capable of making rhythm so I don't know why you brought that out to the discussion.

You can music without a drum, but you can't have music without rhythm although you can have music without harmony or melody.

Also, Rap / Hip-hip music isn't only based on rhythm. It has harmony and melodies as well. You need to stop dismissing and actually pay attention to the music and you'll see what I mean.
