Bravehearth:  The story of a fireplace which leads its fellow fireplaces in a revolt against oppression.  Tongue

How could you discuss epic movies and not list anything from the Star Wars or LOTR series?  Anyway, Revenge of the Sith is my all-time favorite movie, epic or otherwise.   Another great epic movie not on the list is Excalibur.

I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

 Embarrassed LOL

If I have listed Star Wars or LOTR the main discussion would be about them and all other movies would fall in oblivion.

Excalibur is great but I forget to mention it , that is why the poll have that other buttonWink

I'm still surprised at how much the Star Wars prequels are hated... HATED. I think they're fantastic and taken as a whole, the saga is easily one of the finest.

I went for "other" the film being "Ben Hur". Spartacus would be a close second.

Ironically, I don't really go for "Braveheart", I don't appreciate the graphic blood and gore of the modern movie. The great Alfred Hitchcock demonstrated how you could make a good thriller without the need for graphic illustration.

1. Braveheart

3. Kingdom of Heaven
4. 300

By epic, do mean in scope, or just action? Regardless, Lawrence of Arabia and Ben Hur need to be options.

Does the Matrix count as "Epic", or is this strictly non-sci-fi?

Sticking strictly to your list I would have to say Gladiator, but after seeing 300 4 times in the theaters and literally drooling over the upcoming dvd release I would have to say it's a very close second.

Biggest disappointment:Troy
