If anybody is dominating NASCAR right now then its Mark Martin. Hell, he only started 6 of 8 races this season and is still in the top 10 in points. |
Right on! Mark Martin....still can't believe the 500 from earlier this year ![Cry](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif)

I still like to argue to Harvick fans that the caution shoulda been thrown, but in the back of my mind I know he got beat fair and square ![Ouch](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley18.gif)

Looking from the winning standpoint its JJ (and no, not the forum member ![Tongue](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif) ).
But I've been really impressed my Martin this year so far. That is quite an accomplishment. I wish he stayed for those two races...he could very well be leading the championship at this point.
And don't get me started on the 500...

Harvick DID win fair and square indeed...but I will never admit it to myself.
And with this 5 week gap...this thread is ALL racing for the time being ![LOL](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)

Does anybody know the result of last weekend Champ Car race?
I didn`t watch it again.... |
Bourdais dominated, with Servia ( sitting in for the injured Paul Tracy at Forsyth) second and Power third. Only about 1 car droped out with mechanical problems this time, a huge improvment on Vegas were about 8 cars droped out, and te fuel rigs worked properly as well. Housten this week before a 6 week gap to Portland.

Looks like Bourdais is dominating...
At least they're on a street circuit, that's pretty cool.
And I love that name, Will Power. Too bad he got crashed out ![Cry](https://www.progarchives.com/forum/smileys/smiley19.gif) .

Bourdais dominates again, setting fastest lap of the race on the last lap, ahead of his team mate Graham Rahall (youngest ever CC podium finisher now) and Doornbos. Looks like its going to be a very good season there as there are a lot of fast cars, but we have to wait 6 weeks for the next race. I only just found out that team GB and New Zealand won the A1GP races in China last week.

Sorry sleeper, guess I turned this into a general motorsports thread....
This gap in F1 just proved to be too long!

I think me you Zappa and Memo have all turned this into a general racer thread together. I agree the gap is too long, and were only 1 week into it!

I don't know the details...but heard they were changing the La Source hairpin at Spa.
If they're like, getting rid of it all together....guess that's another classic down the tube.
They're moving out of all the classic tracks into these new ones (although I like Malaysia, China, and Turkey) but we are losing classics, OR they're being radically altered. I know it's all in the name of safety....but F1 is supposed to be the top racing sport and I think we're kind of losing it....
But hey, guess that's why I don't do business right?

La Source is staying the same, a new pit complex is being built and the Bus Stop chicane is being re-profiled (again, about the third time in 5-6 years). I dont like most of the new tracks that are coming in, there all boreing "Tilke-dromes" (Hermann Tilke being the designer of choice at the moment ![Dead](smileys/smiley11.gif) ), the problem is is that they are coming in with massive backing from their governments to try and boost tourism, where as Euro governments couldnt really justify such expenditure.

True. I am still upset they took off Suzuka, and that Fuji circuit just dosn't seem appealing to me. And that's good to hear with Spa. They made it sound like the turn was being dramatically altered....

Suzuka lost out because Honda arent as will ing to spend as much money on their track as Toyota were on Fuji.

Well, the drivers that have driven it have said its pretty dull and souless. its basically a 1 mile straight with a hairpin then a series of medium speed, technically challenging curves that make for crap racing.

I'm a bit late, but May 1st was the aniversary of Ayrton Senna's death at Imola '94.

It' still May 1st here in the States!
I CAN'T believe I didn't remember this! (I've been busy) Thanks Sleeper.
What a tragedy, but at least he died doing what he did best, leading the race.
Also, can't forget yesterday was the anniversary of the death of Ronald Ratzenberger.
If only Senna lived, it would've been great to see him battle Schumacher. Maybe he might have not won so many titles?

Now the though of a rivalry between GV and AS is absolutely mouth watering. Its a shame Fate had other ideas.
