Kubica could have been higher but BMW messed up the last tyre change so he didnt get in his last run.

Tonight will be my last night home before I go back to school. F1 race in Australia, what a way to end it.

I say Alonso will continue from last year and win!

Watch Massa, hes going to have to fight through from 16th, should make it interesting.

Whatever happens I reckon its going to be a good race.

Lewis Hamilton is barely out of nappies (diapers), but he could be a new British protegé.  He does go on about his ethnicity a bit too much though, as if it's special or something (I don't mean that in a racist way, obviously).  Fair play to him.

Great, great! Ferrari is back on top. And Raikkonen will get his chance! Oh, The Master should've stayed another year, then he'd have his 8th crown....Cry

Good race, really impressed by Hamilton (wasnt expecting him to challenge Alonso this early in the season).

James, I havnt seen him talk much about his ethnicity, so it must be just the tabloids looking for something to ramble on about.

JJ, Hamilton is the 2003 British Formula Renault champion, 2005 F3 Euroseries Champion and 2006 GP2 champion. Short of talent he is not.

T, Schumy left because he was affraid of Kimi.Wink

I was, I've been keeping track of his career for the past few years and know how quick he is.

I know he's extremely quick, but it was his debut on a track he has never seen before, I wasnt expecting more than a decent haul of points, 4th or 5th.

Although I have no possibility to watch the races this year, I'm still supporting Massa and hope there will be some kind of breakthrough for him this season. I'm not particularly fond of Raikkonen, but as long as Ferrari is going strong (and Massa with it) I'm not complaining.

Oh yeah, I forgot that this was going to be the FIRST year EVER that Schummy would've faced Kimi... yes, he had never beaten him before...WinkBig%20smile

I think Kimi scared Schummy away... but with his overwhelming charisma... I mean, who can resist such an emotional rollercoaster as the "Heart-Man" Raikkonen is? WinkLOL

I want Kimi to win anyway. But wouldn't it be good if he at last moved his jaw a little bit to try to fool everybody into believing he's smiling??LOL

I really dont know what any of you are talking about.
Kimi is the most charismatic, exciting person I've seen...

I do like Raikkonen, but I have to go with my man Alonso. He will be the next MS.
I see it now, 8 titles!!!

And I would have loved to see Schumi and Kimi together on the same team. THAT would've been exciting.

It must be something about Finnish drivers I don't like.  Hakkinen didn't smile either.

I also don't like Williams or McLaren that much for some odd reason.  I do like Ferrari though.

Andy: I saw an interview with Hamilton last year, he was talking about how he's following in the footsteps of other sportsman of his ethnicity, as if it was very important.  He mentioned the Williams Sisters and Tiger Woods I believe.  The problem I had at the time though, was that he had his history wrong, he forgets Arthur Ashe and Vijay Singh, who came before the Williams Sisters and Tiger Woods.  Anyhow, this isn't important really.

Ethnicity should have nothing to do with whether he can drive a car well or not.

I do like him though, he seems very level headed and can drive exceptionally well.  Goo d on him.

No doubt the papers will go on about his ethnicity though.

I already like him. And yes, ethnicity should have nothing to do with it. As long as you can drive, that's all I care about.

I don't mean anything offensive by this but I'm wondering, has there been a black driver in F1 before? I've only watched for a few years so I don't know.

I personally don`t remember any, and yesterday when i watched the Race in a Local Channel, the narrators said the same, that they didn`t remember any black driver before...

I don't believe there has either, but it really shouldn't matter in any case, as we are all aware, of course.

I just know he mentioned it in an interview I saw.  I just hope they don't make a big deal of it all.

The thing about Hamilton is that he's naturally quick and seeming not afraid to push a car to the edge (and beyond) even when he's not been round that track before.

So given that this years Maclaren is very fast, a podium was a distinct possibility what I didn't expect was for him to be ahead of his team mate for most of the race.

As for his move at the first corner that was a textbook GP2 move, I hope to see more of them throughout the year. Wink

I think that Raikkonen's performance just showed how if you put a good driver in a good reliable car then they will win.  I have always felt that had he been Schumacher's team mate in previous years then Michael would have often been second.Wink
When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.
