It was a close call between 'Esoteric' and 'Blut Aus Nord' for me. 'Blut Aus Nord' finally won; much to the thanks of their deubt. 'Limbonic Art' is a contender for their first album (one of the few Symphonic black release I heartly enjoy); for me personally I think they stumble from here on in. 'Diabolical masquerade's - Death Desgin' is also another great album, which was orginally recorded as a sound track to a moive which never eventuated. A must listen project for anyone interested in Atomspheric Blacken' avant-garde.

I would assume 'Anitmatter' is 'related'? Are we talking about the sing from 'Anathema'? Very placid emotional music.

Cannibal Corpse grind? They're just good old fashioned death metal. Carcass were grind and became more death metal.

dEATH IS IN ONE OF THE POLLS,BECAUSE THEY ARE A GROUP WITH TECHNIC HAVE SOME SONGS MORE COMPLEX THAN THE MEDIA OF DEATH METAL BANDS ,but I dont include some   of black metal like burzum, mayhem etc  THEY ARE NOT PROG BLACK METAL and they have a  a tragic history.

Gorish lyrics does not equal Grind. Cannibal Corpse are Death Metal. They are not, however, anything resembling progressive music, so i'm not saying they belong on the poll, just that labelling them Grind is misleading.

As for the poll... i don't really like any of the bands on this one a lot, but i'll plump for Celtic Frost.

Esoteric are bloody immense. I wouldn't call it "beautiful" or "funeral doom" though.

Out of these, Blut Aus Nord is the best band, no question about that.

Perhaps you're right but I do think they've got more to do with funeral doom than any other genre.

Besides, no-one sounds like Thergothon anymore lol.
