Okay, I haven't legitimately visited this thread in a while other than to make a stupid comment, but I'm about to ask a girl out tomorrow, yet have no idea what to say...Ouch

Say "Hey foxy lady, wanna go to my house and listen to Terria in my basement?"
Trust me.Wink

I seem to be the only one within a several hundred mile radius who likes that albumOuchEmbarrassedLOL but she does have good taste in music, noticably (for this site anyway) Pink Floyd and Jethro Tull
Wait, she likes Tull too?
Luckily for me, I see her 1 period before you do Evil%20Smile

The only girl I've met with good music taste (she would give even James some competition in terms of listening to random obscure bands) turned out to be one of the weirdest girl I've ever met (not in a good way either, as being a bit eccentric usually is).  Most of my female friends and friends in general have pretty bad taste, but it really doesn't matter that much since I can talk about mostly everything.

Could you forward her on to me? WinkLOL

What's happening nowadays (at least in my country) is that women are often dating guys who're not so "hot" but who are jerks (or disguised as that "secure about themselves" bolony)

I thought it was hockey players and losers that they would date. Nevertheless, when I ask a girl what music she likes to listen to, when she says she doesn't know I think "pfft". When she says what ever is on radio, I say "pfft" out loud. Usually she looks at me like an idiot and asks what she's supposed to listen, and if I don't find her attractive I say jazz rock and fusion. If she's cute I say nevermind and ask her to dance

Nothing like that special sense that gives you information about how good or bad you invitation was received. Once one feels that the girl (in my case, since I'm hetero, I don't know how this works in other realms) sends unclear signals, everything is lost. The only thing that has always bothered me is ¿why don't they just say so?. ¿Why avoiding that straight "no thanks" answer?. Many time of my youth wasted because nobody is direct enough. So, finally, I had it, and started my crusade of brutal honesty. "I like you a lot. ¿Do you? ¿no?, ok, good luck with the life and everything. Here's your conmemorative soap. Keep it, and remember me, or use it and forget about this. Nice talking to you". Life is too short for all of us to become romantic comedy characters...

JUST ASK!!! ... IS NOT LIKE SHE IS GONNA CHEW YOUR ARMS OFF OR SOMETHING!!!... ARGH... I TRULY BELIVE THAT NOT BEING BRAVE ENOUGH IS MORE EMBARRASING THAN BEING REJECTED. REJECTION HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. LIFE IS REJECTION, AND ONE'S RESISTANCE TO IT, AND TRUE HAPPINES COMES FROM THAT AND NOTHING MORE...

Sorry for the uppercase thing...

Her brother says she likes me and she was the one who suggested she we meet one evening this week... I don't want to send her a text, 'cause I don't want to sound to forward...

I know Cry I'm a pathetic soul.....but I plan on asking very soon. Still, I have a lot of problems behind this, it isn't just "asking a girl out" as it is for most people

well, I'm going to ask her on Friday, as I'm going to the school musical with her, her friend, and one of my friends...I've already got confirmation though that when I ask her she's going to say yes, which is why my hesitation is puzzling even to myselfWacko

As a female, Mina probably knows how silly is to look a grown male walking sideways with that "I should say something..." expresion...

Wish me luck with this girl, guys. I'll need it...

Tomorrow I'm leaving with her for Budapest, to have a three days trip and see the Van Gogh exhibition. Though she formally still is my girlfriend, during the last year she has strongly grown apart from me, for reasons unknown. For example, I got to see her just once in the last ten months; this is why this trip plan she unexpectedly accepted (because she wanted to see the exhibition but she had no other choice but my offer, nobody else wanted to go) it's a great chance for me to try to fix things. If the minimal context requirements will be fulfilled, I'll ask her to marry me. I know, the chances are by now very little, but 1. who knows? 2. I'm already desperate anyway, I can't just let my life slip through my fingers. I know I may well lose her in the time to come, and my life would become senseless, but at least I'd have the peace of mind for having acted as a man about the situation.

...so thanks for listening and see you  in three days' time.

oh, dear! Shocked

I wish you the best of luck!

You know, you could impress her by doing it the Van Gogh way. Just instead of giving her the ring, give her your ear. It would fit the picture perfectly. Even better, do it before one of the paintings. Cut the ear so, that there's a fingersized hole in the middle of it, and that should still leave a lot of space to carve her name into. That'd be SO romantic!
