In this poll I would like to focus on football skills so here's my opinion about Pele and Maradonna:

- although Pele (Edson Arantes Di Nascimento as I remember) was a superb player who scored an amazing amounts of goals (more than 1000) and who won many prizes, my vote goes to Maradonna ("El Diez") because he was more allround, his opponents were more determined to eliminate him (and so they did like in Spain Angry ) and he was almost alone responsible for Argentina their World championship in 1986 with breathtaking moments and the best goal ever made Clap

And now I am going to watch Champions League: PSV versus Arsenal (unfortunately no Van Persie Unhappy )

I voted for Maradona, purely because we share a birthday. Haha

We all know that Shea Givens is the best goalkeeper who ever lived, thus making hime the best soccer player ever.

Beauty will save the world.

Oh, I'm ecuadorian my friend... I just came here a year ago... And I was only joking! Big%20smile There was a post by an argentinian guy who said that "if you don't vote maradona, you don't have any idea of futbol".... Now the comment in istelf was a little radical, and if we add the nationality factor.... there goes objectivity down the drain...LOL Don't take offense when none is intended...

Gôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôôl do Pelé.

Pelé is the greatest football player the world has ever seen. FIFA's Footballer of the Century.

Here's a scan of one of my Pelé stamps from 1969 celebrating his 1000th goal, and just below it is the great man's autograph done for me in Belo Horizonte in 1969, written on the back of an aerogramme because that was the only thing to hand. A real gentleman.

Older members of the forum will remember that Pelé was often targeted by the opposing side and suffered some very nasty fouls. In the 1966 World Cup he was injured twice, being targeted in the games against Bulgaria and Portugal. He had to miss the game against Hungary because of his injuries from the Bugaria game. I remember it well. Pelé was so disgusted that he said he would not play again in the World Cup finals. Thankfully he changed his mind.

Very "funny"... Angry

I would like to know how many "argentinians" you know, to speak thus on us...

About Maradona, you watch him to walking in the air. Observe you the speed which he was played. Maradona played in the era of physical soccer, of the mark soccer. When Pelé played, the teams were attack, they did not defend, did not train to defend.
