Hogarth very much belongs there, in my opinion. one of the most expressionless voices there are. he would sing about a brutal murder the same way he would sing a love song Confused. I don't like him at all.
a singer with a from a technical point of view really bad, but highly interesting and unmistakable voice I really like is Chris Karrer of Amon Düül 2

Steve Hogarth has one of the best voices in music, just because you may like marillion better with fish Hogarth is still good vocally.
Hogarth could be Ok in a very soft songs ,when  Fish go to other way and enter  HOGARTH   I FEEL A BIG DECEPTION,Hogarth dont have the voice and feeling of FISH ,There are hundreds of singers in prog and not prog music better than Hogarth,..but Hogarth is an excellent composer, teclist and make songs of grand beauty, but I am objetive he have a limited voice, that is going better in each new album ,but never he can be considered at the level of the greatest singers.

Geddy Lee isn't on this poll because (obviously) he is a great singer whom all should bow down before and listen to Rush constantly!

At least thats what I do.

Oddly enough I really like her half-an-octave range (or less), husky voice on Feels Good To Me, but thinks she stinks on the Bruford Rock Goes To College DVD doing the same songs.

I have the solist album of Steve Howe, that could be better if he use a real singer, and Brian May  is good in the chorus of Queen BUT NOT great   like a solist,,,and he call  Paul Rodgers for sing in Queen .

What was that about 'art in the eye of the beholder'......LOL

I sometimes wonder because of  my eventual acceptance of Mr Lee's er em voice, whether with familiarity my brain was turning off the pain receptors to avoid further harm......Evil%20Smile

David Gilmour .I like how he sings, imagine if I reemplace the voice of Gilmour with the voice of Simmons ,,,What is the result?......please say something

Because Hogarth is in the list! Anyway...

If you really think he can't sing with emotion, try these songs:

"Living With The Big Lie"
"Neverland"
"This Strange Engine"
"The Party"
"Three Minute Boy"

... Hell, listen to any of his songs!
