Ol' Bobby Dylan's voice has always agreed with me. I love his music. Neil Young pulls in second place. |

Steve Hogarth has one of the best voices in music, just because you may like marillion better with fish Hogarth is still good vocally. ![]() |

Mark E. Smith. If 'singer' is the correct term.

Steve Hogarth?! You kiddin' me?! The man is brilliant! He's excellent... I mean, I mean, b-b-but... *head explodes*
Anyway... I had to vote for Neil (I don't think his voice is bad, but I'm in the minority). He's my favorite artist - just look at my signature! His voice is frail at times, raging at other, and always moving. I have a live bootleg with "Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing" on it that is just earth-moving.

Steve Howe SINGS????
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also....
Hogarth on the list????
![]() ![]() Ray Alder is missing from this list.
Many singers have not a great voice (steven wilson, neal morse) but their voice fits the music perfectly.
Tiamat's Edlund has a so-so voice but it narcotizes(?) me.... I like it.
Ringo was atrocious.
Knopfler was atrocious.
Clapton wasn't that bad.
but, again...
Howe?//

I'm going to say Bjork because from a technical standpoint her voice is horrible. But it works so well with her music....

I voted for 'other' - namely, Roger Waters. Not a typically good voice by any means, but extremely expressive (unlike the highly praised David Gilmour).
And, btw, what's Phil Lynott doing in that list? ![]() |

i always thought gilmour and waters had the "strong" voices of floyd and wright was the "back-up" voice - because his voice (which i love most, actually) had the least wide spectrum (or what's the technical word).
of the list - bob dylan, there's not much of a competition.
also hendrix had a limited voice and was very shy in using it at the beginning - but what a great singing he managed!

I found Lynott's voice a little strange at first, but I quickly learned to love it. Such a shame the man died.

At Mr T
Steve Howe definitely sings, but I like his voice, it isnt bad at all. Another person not belonging here is Brian May, who has a great voice.

At first I didn't like Latimer's voice that much, but now I think his voice is the best for Camel, even counting Sinclair and what's his name from Stationary Traveler.

deny it all you want, everyone on the list is a terrible singer. ;)
also I don't think Bjork's a bad singer at all given her range and depth. It might be an intentionally quirky voice but I don't think that makes it technically bad. just sexy |
