Good day fellow prog-heads ! I need your help in finding instrumental-only albums in the same vein as Ozric Tentacles, Helmet of Gnats, Karfagen, etc. I find the genre very interesting because brilliant music is often overshadowed by vocals (good or bad). Thanks in advance.
p.s. please don't talk to me about Magma...I tried 'em and hated 'em (sorry) |

Welcome T... btw, did you visit our "Welcome Newbies" forum?
1- This thread was moved to the Prog-Lounge.
2- You have practically the same username of another member here. Any ideas for a new name, T.?

Not entirely instrumental, but it's only got a couple minutes of singing on one track. A classic Canterbury album with some strong jazz influences. Soft Machine's Third

Thanks Fitzcarraldo, I had a sneak peak at Goblin (the available track on PA, and on the band's website) Really interesting indeed.

I suppose you can enjoy The Enid (1st ~ 4th), Er.J.Orchestra, Mongol, Lalena, Weather Report (1st ~ Domino Theory). But Domino Theory includes a vocal track. Gryphon/Red Queen To Gryphon Three
Ain Soph/A Story Of Mysterious Forest
Soft Machine/Softs
Brand X/Livestock
Shylock/Ile De Fievre
etc may be interesting for you ??

No problem I still think you should give them a brief listen, I wasn't interested in electronic music until I gave them a try I'm now looking to explore it a bit more. I think there are a few mp3s here.
