Ginger Baker, the only man who was the equal of Keith Moon.

Pierre Moerlen! My favourite drummer along with Guy Evans of VdGG, who is very underappreciated and should be in this poll.

I saw Chester Thompson when he was with Weather Report. The man is simply a monster when turned loose. Easily the best from the list. Some others rarely ever mentioned in other prog or fusion polls:

Alphonse Mouzon (Eleventh House)
Leon "Ndugu" Chandler (George Duke, others)
Ernest "Boom" Carter (Bruce Springsteen, David Sancious)
Narada Michael Walden (Mahavishnu Orchestra)
Bernard "Pretty" Purdie (Cat Stevens, Quincy Jones, others)
Alex Acuña (Weather Report)
