No, you never had an argument.  Those people didn't have the circumstance to help themselves.  We gave them that circumstance.

Iraq did not need "to help themselves". The country was stable and profitable until "you" and your misguided leader decided to pervert power and apply your own personal vengance to an innocent nation.

...do you call living in poverty profitable?  Are you that dense?  The only person who was profiting was Saddam.  You haven't seen the pictures, the videos or any of that.  You just believe every bullsh*t thing your local news stations shove down your throats.

Don't bother.  You obviously have no clue what you're on about.

Whatever, I'm done here.  I've made my case.  I have nothing further to say in this topic.

Wanna ask the Kurds and the sh*tes what they thought about this statement? You think they were OK with Saddam?

You can see the answer to that question in their reaction on his hanging.

Well, it happened, Hussein is dead. Executed by hanging. I have mixed emotions on the subject. First of all, I was shouting for joy when the man was removed from power (though I never quite got to the extreme of Iraqis, it is not smart to shoot guns straight upWink) However, I am strongly opposed to the use of the death penalty (and a Conservative too! The ideas mix, really!)
When I found out about Saddam's death, I prayed, I prayed for the man's eternal soul, I prayed God would have mercy on him. Then I found myself thinking, what kind of a man am I to be praying for a ruthless, murdering dictator? Then I realized, I am a Christian, a real Christian, and I knew, for the first time in my life, what it meant to truly do what Jesus said, and love my enemy. The world is probably better off without him, but I think as God truly works in mysterious ways, Saddam taught my a valuable lesson, bet that would piss him off.
Big smile

Anyway, just wanted to share that, sorry for the personal story in there, but the real news is Saddam Hussein was executed, so there.

he was a mass murderer. he raised his sons to be mass murderers. i admire your ability to care about such heartless souls and to pray for their mercy in the afterlife, though. it shows alot of character on your part.

on a different tone, i thank saddam for giving me my first point this year on the rotten.com deadpool...

I'm affraid so. Just look in this article: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/6221751.stm.

Someone recorded the whole of the event (probably with his mobile phone) with sound, contrary to the official version. It didn't look like an act of justice but rather like a revenge of Shiites.

but that is their business as far as i'm concerned. you can't say revenge was not the first thing on their minds.

Maybe, but I cant believe that they didnt know this could cause trouble. The article suggests that they all knew that another video was being made so you think they would have roubed a couple of brain cells together and kept quite during his exicution. The result is we will probably see a further rise in sectarian violance.

That's why the official version was without sound. However, they didn't know about the person recording with his mobile phone.
