He bashes people for reviewing Scarsick before it's been released, then he gives it five stars without mentioning anything about the album

What about this one:

ZAPPA, RICCARDO — Celestion
Review by JoseMendoza (Jose Luis Mendoza Villegas)

This Album debut of Riccardo Zappa is very good in musical matter, because their good knowledge of classic music use them of an appropriate way to originate a mixture of styles whose result is something impressive. 4 stars!

A bit too short IMO...
"Music is much like f**king, but some composers can't climax and others climax too often, leaving themselves and the listener jaded and spent."

KING CRIMSON — Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Review by OpethGuitarist (Joey Kelley)
Prog Reviewer 5 stars Ageless classic.

...
Larks Pt. 1 is one of the most engaging songs KC ever wrote. This is some of creativity at it's peak, with just wicked compositional skills that are baffling. KC may have never been the most appealing band (too quirky for many Yes and Genesis fans) but in my mind they have always been far superior and far more creative in their approach.
...

Right, I may be a tad bit drunk, but I really don't think that slating an entire band's fanbase in a review is good practice.

I don't see any slating of anyone there Bill, he's only suggesting they may be took quirky in the way others might say too jazzy, too folky, too bluesy, too avante garde, etc.

Feel free to discuss further in the reviews discussion thread though.

what does length have to with it. as long as we are allowed ratings only, no review can be too short.

if I'm correct these reviews are not shown on the frontpage. and can easily be ignored. at l;east it provides some reasoning (be it not very good) for the 4 star rating.

My guess is the writter's language is spanish, or portugese, it can be difficult to write in a  foreign language.

Very short indeed, maybe it's with the minimum required characters. To be dealt with. Smile

Atkingani,
Tried to respond to your reply on private messenger but kept getting a notice that I wasn't using the right form (?).  More weirdness.  Anyway, I got my review to go through this morning from work with no problem.  I incorrectly identified Mr. Rudess as "Jason" at one point but I guess there's no way for me to fix that, right?  Thanks for your help and sincere concern. Fine review, RA! Thumbs Up I can imagine how painful it was when you lost the first text. Confused

KING CRIMSON — THRaKaTTaK

Review by 10string (German F)

5 stars Wonderful CD to SCARE THE sh*tE out of your neighbors!!!! Guys, guys guys-READ THE SMALL PRINT BEFORE BITCHIN'!!!!! You want cohesive stuff???-BUY A STUDIO CD!!!! Totally improvised- I have a question for all of you who poo-pooed this CD, can YOU actually improvise/come up with this kind of stuff??? Be honest!!! NO YOU CAN'T!!! You're fooling yourself if you think you can. I'm a graduate from Berklee in Boston who has played Bass/Stick for more than 20 years- I can play T Lev's stuff but Trey Gunn is WAY over my head most of the time!!! The beauty of the shredding taking place on this CD is that it takes REAL musicians to improvise like this, sure, it's easy to dismiss it as"anyone can play this kind of noise, duh". NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED OR FOR BEGINNERS-OR EVEN THE SEASONED FANS!!! I DO recommend this CD if you want total chaos, KC style. Great packaging ,as always. I give this a 5 star , because it takes some brass "cojones" to release this kind of CD, and also because , there's NOTHING out there that compares to this.

BTW, Patto lives!!!!

A review that perhaps should be edited slightly:

http://www.progarchives.com/Review.asp?id=105499

After studying the review a few times I think I may begin to grasp what this guy is trying to tell, but as it is now it's more confusing than informative for the casual reader.

This chappie has reviewed all of Sintesis albums but in a single review against En Busca De Una Nueva Flor .... I imagine these can be extracted and placed against the appropriate albums [which could do with a boost] though I'm not sure what you can do about ratings .... he is an infrequent visitor

@ Windhawk: I did a slight edition but the review is poor. I let it stay in spite of... Smile

@ Joolz: I'll try to find a way, J. Perhaps trying to contact the reviewer - if we split the mentioned review, some have no text and some are too short, and there's also the problem with the ratings. Confused
