i'm going to have to go with zeuhl. wow. how uninspired can you get...? Dead

Third Ear Band I found thoroughly unlistenable; therefore it has to be indo-prog. bag of sh*te.

Electronic Prog...

Prog metal...

I can't stand electronic prog

Some of the cheesy neo prog I hear on prog radio stations. Dead

I think the only satanic bands are those crazy Scandinavian black metal bands that go around burning churches and killing babies...

I cant stand Krautrock... Dead

makes me want to kill myself... Embarrassed

Neo. Seems like I've that genre's material somewhere else...  Too clone-like Confused

etc..............Dead

Couldn't agree moreClap

FIRST OF ALL: the question is:

What style of prog do you like least?
not What style of prog do you hate?

well, i don't think any member here completely hates a subgenre: in this case, he has to explore more the subgenre: at least one hidden album is waiting for him!

there is obviously one subgenre that we least like than the others; to me, it is clear: KRAUTROCK.

however, i like amon duul & guru guru.

neo prog takes no effort to be appreciated: the effect occurs instantly!

keep in mind that when you do not like neo prog, you question the pertinence of modern keyboards, of expressive electric guitar solos and of atmospheric arrangements.

if you don't like neo, then you probably miss many musical styles, such like new age, metal, hard rock, electronic music, and most of the music that relies on modern keyboards

If the poll was reversed Neo and Prog Metal would still score high. They are the most loved and at the same timehated Genres.

I think it's no coincidence that the two "winning" genres here are also those that were (are) most active after the 70s.

Ok, the tendencies are clear now and no need of extending this poll.

As pointed by Mike, the 2 sub-genres most productive and effective in the last 20 years are also the most "disliked", but it happens when you are more exposed. Either sub-genres are probably those with more followers nowadays, hence certainly the most "liked" too.

Liking or not, neo-prog and prog-metal have helped greatly to carry the prog-rock flame well into the 21st Century.
