Twelfth Night- now that's clearly an 80s sounding band. While I don't love the music, I'm fascinated with their combination of prog and minimalist post-punk influence. Extremely unique- good job getting the interview.

I don't think the "Live at the Target" album (or any of the recordings prior to that) sounds 80's at all; It's somewhat Hillage/Hackett/Wishbone Ash/Ozric Tentacles (), as far as I can hear. Listen

"Fact and Fiction" is a great representation - although, as I said, a snapshot with 80s production filters. I don't think the band "relinquished control", rather succumbed to contemporary techniques - after all, they were representing and kick-starting
