I can't help feeling that asking a load of prog fans how to get a girlfriend is a bit like going to your local synagogue for tips on practical pig farming...Big smile
Music has always been a matter of energy to me. On some nights I believe that a car with the needle on empty can run 50 more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio. Hunter S Thompson

Well, she may not like prog, but since Marillion can be romantic, she may like them. I was gonna say "well, girls like romantic stuff because that's how they differ from men," but I like them partly for the romantic stuff! (Fish era, btw).

Well, I'll try this week, but knowing me... we'll see. I'll post here to indicate my actions!

SO TRUE!!!

Well, I've noticed a lot of people have girlfriends, wives (or boyfriends and husbands).

Oh, and another thing:

Ladies, what do you want to hear from a man when he asks you out for a date?

Yeah, it really doesn't matter.  It would be awesome to find a girl who actually has great taste, though.

If my girlfriend started humming Kobaia, I'd probably propose. LOL

Wizzie found a girl who has good taste!

Seriously, it doesn' matter. Besides, I could get her to like one of the more accesible bands... (w/out coercing, btw).

You : "Hi. Listen; I really like you. Not only as friends, that is. So, knowing that: ¿would you go out with me?. I don't care about what to do and where, as long as you are there".

If answer is "Yes", set a date to a quiet activity, and, when the time feels right, just kiss her, don't hessitate. She already say "Yes" to the whole thing, so there's nothing to fear. If it is too much trouble, do as I, and simply say: "I'm gonna kiss you know".

If answer is "No", at least you know. That is a lot better than just wait and live imaginary perfect moments in your mind, that will eventually fall because you never did a thing and someone else entered into the situation.

Plus: be yourself all the time. Don't force thing if the feeling is weird. (For instance, if she say: "sorry, but no", or "for Mankind's sake no", etc., just let it go, don't insists, don't make scenes, etc.

Oh, sure, me talking about it every five seconds is annoying and emo, but Alex here makes a goddamned thread on it Wink

Anyways, I have experience doing this once, and that got  TOTALLY f**ked up as I've told you before, but IGNORING THAT EXPERIENCE, I think you should just tell her how you feel, be honest, don't try to veil it but don't be too blunt, and if she likes you, she likes you, and if she doesn't, oh well. The best thing to do is not to get worked up over it.

Luckily, this girl certainly knows I exist... everyone on the Cross country team knows me! I'm a flamboyant, bouncy, weird, and articulate individual who is well known; I'm just shy with girls, that's all. Extremely shy!

Whatever you do, don't quote any Peter Hammill...

Dude, just take it a step at a time.  Speak to her, feel the vibe, if that vibe is odd, then leave it for another day.  If you feel the vibe is good, then speak to her, but don't ask her out too soon, timing is essential.  You never know, she may actually ask you out if you're lucky.  Women generally want the guy to make the first move though and by first move, I mean asking them out on a date.

Women aren't rocket science (not at this stage anyhow) and if you're good at reading people, that's even better.  Read some books about physiognomy! LOL

One more thing; don't be nervous, or don't show your nerves.
