Note: I don't want to put this in WOMEN because I want people to actually respond to what I say!

Okay everyone, I need help with this girl who I really like. She runs cross country with me, she's cute (well, I think she's beautiful), and she's very shy. I went to my school's homecoming dance yesterday and I danced (or attempted to dance) in her group. There were only 2 slowdances and I couldn't dance with her during either one. However, I did sort of dance with her when several people hold hands and I held hers... and at the end of the dance, I told her "You look beautiful tonight." Now that she knows I like her, what should I do?

P.S. She's not a very popular girl with boys all over her, so I potentially could go out with her...

Ummm, just ask her out would be the most logical conclusion I could draw. You obviously have a good chance of it going over well, so I wouldn't really worry so much about it.

No matter what people say, it's still gonna be very difficult for you to talk to her.
Let me say that starting this thread is a very daring thing to do.

Maybe go to the girl and say : Hi, I am terribly shy but.................( say what you want to say.)

Good luck.

Well, how should I ask her out? I don't know how to ask girls out... Wait, that's what this thread should be about: How do I ask her out?

Stand infront of your miror, move your lips and make sounds. These sounds should sound like "Hey...I was wondering if you would want to see a movie with me." or whatever you'd like to ask/say.

Try this in all different ways of speaking; natural, cool, overly secure, seducing, ...

Then say "screw this" and go up to her and ask/say what you practiced.

You'll probably end up mumbeling it incredibly shy and half stuttering.

Actually works well is saying "Wanna hang out with me tonight?" then "Good, I'll pick you up at 8."

Aks her msn and then try it over the intarweb, that helps. Wink

(also, if you are living close together, try to limit the msnness between thee as much as possible, it doesn't work if you see each other often)
Epic.

Tell her you play tenor sax in an improvisational jazz band and that you like listening to progressive music of the Canterbury variety. Geek
Or just try to find the thin line between being shy and letting her know you are hopelessly mesmerised by her smile/mysterious appearance/delicacy etc.
Trying to be both innocent and daring at the same time is a technique that may, if used wisely, provide you with a charming aura.
And, of course, always remember to ask yourself why you want to be close to her. Tongue

"Hey babe, listen to this.  It's Magma - Kohntarkosz.  I think you'll really enjoy it."

Oh... you aren't trying to break up with her....

Cliche, but just ask if she wants to grab a cup of coffee sometime.  You can just hang out and have a conversation and its low pressure.  Afterwards, ask if she wants to go out again some night (movies, etc.) and make plans then and there - and get her phone number!  Tongue

Mike, Magma actually could scare prog fans. This girl doesn't like good music (as her friend says, "[she] only listens to people who make singles"). However, it doesn't matter.

make it your way man
if you not yourself she get it
cinema is a good idea but there you can not talk to her much
after the cinema you should go somewhere to with her
then you have enough time to talk
and the first topic could be the movie
