HT, I knew you were a great guy, but I didn't know you were a fellow BOC fan... As for me, I think there is a whole subgenre on this site dedicated to Italian bands... The interest and love those bands, especially those who were active in the Seventies, command from people who've never even seen Italy from afar (are you listening here, Micky and Jody?) are reason enough to be proud of all of them - even though, on a personal level, I tend to listen to bands from English-speaking countries than homegrown ones. |

you'd have to exclude Brits, Americans and Germans my friend
so far none of them posted, anyway!
hmmmmmmmm; what will hapen to "Multinatinoal" bands?!?!? who may list them?
my country is very barren, unfortunately. I can name a couple of names who at one time or another went into prog.. (not all output by these acts are prog. most turned towards pop after '80's...)
Mogollar
Baris Manco
Cem Karaca
Erkin Koray
Murat Ses
(I had to eliminate TUrkish special characters, otherwise they won't show... for those who are interested high-quality in Turkish folk prog, the first and last names are essential. Murat Ses was Mogollar's keyboardist for their first 5 years anyway. In early nineties he went on to explore electronic music. may not be definitive, but surely interesting works. He's a hell of a keyboardist btw)

Listen to Turkish psych/prog; you won't regret:
Baris Manco,Erkin Koray,Cem Karaca,Mogollar,3 Hürel,Selda,Edip Akbayram,Fikret Kizilok,Ersen (and Dadaslar) (but stick with the '70's, and 'early 80's!) |

Those are some of the bands from the 2 countries I am citizen of, that I think bring pride (and also joy) to the local music scene, although they are not always appreciated there appropriately: Kruzenshtern & Parohod -
France (this is way too big a list to dislose but I can try and only those in PA):
(sorry for the length, I don't like limiting my options)

Try to write fully, my friend! Though I've been "learning" English since I was 12 (I'm 32 btw!) it's not my native language, and I can't always get what you mean
what I'm "wafflin'" is: there are so many English, German and American bands, and most of them are so well known that they won't have to advertise them here besides, bands like Genesis (at least PG period), Yes, King Crimson, ELP are everyone's favorite... (maybe I should've mentioned Britain only)
about holidays: many prefer southern region for sun+sea combination, but I've been there twice, and I gave up! (seriously, I won't go there even if someone pays me! It's so hot. besides, they always overcharge...) if you're not interested in sunbathing and swimming, come down here (Istanbul). It is one of the major cities of the world (once capital of Roman Empire), you will find plenty of interesting things to see & to do (maybe not exciting as New York, but still fine)

I wrote in my post that I only included bands in PA.
But yes, you are right, they should be in the list.
And they should be added to PA.
I will start working on that after work today.

I don't know of any symphonic bands from Canada, perhaps someone could recommend some good ones?
