Baseball!

Well, it's September, and that means pennant fever! Who here likes baseball? What's your favorite team?!



I've bled orange and black since 1993 (see signature).  They've been a frustrating team to follow this year, but I'd sooner jump off the Golden Gate Bridge before acknowledging something positive about the Dodgers

Growing up in Baltimore I am a huge Orioles fan.I practically grew up in Memorial Stadium and am a regular season ticket buyer at Camden Yards.

This city loves the O's and there is a big debate going on right now over owner Peter Angelos and the way he is running the team into the ground.He keeps on promising to expand the payroll and bring in some high profile and big name free agents but never does.

We need pitching BAD!!!!!!!!!

Well i grew up watching those awesome Bluejays, since then i have always had sympathy for them, but sadly nothing great happens with them lately

Dude. The Toronto Blue Jays won two World Series in the nineties—1992 and 1993.  I would've loved to see Les Expos win the NL East division in 1994, if for no other reason than to keep the Braves from winning the NL East.  As it was, the season was called due to Strike and Atlanta's ridiculous streak of winning their division for a gazillion straight years was kept intact.  As a Giants fan, I still had a grudge against the Braves from 1993, when the Giants had won 103 games (!) and still couldn't reach the playoffs because of those confounded Braves.

Everybody was hurt by 1994's strike.  It wasn't until McGwire and Sosa were chasing Roger Maris' original single-season home run record in 1998 when baseball really recovered—Toronto included.  But the fans never returned in Montreal, and as a result, a lack of revenue eventually forced the team to be sold to Major League Baseball.  The league, obviously wanting to turn around the downtrodden franchise, was FINALLY able to move it to Washington, and a team that was left for dead was given new life. 

It must have been a sad day for Montreal to see the Expos leave, but the franchise was stuck in a downward spiral of low payroll and low quality performance.  I can't claim to know what the culture is like in Montreal, but it was clear the fans were never coming back. 

A lot of great players came out of the Expos' farm system:  Larry Walker, Pedro Martinez, Vladimir Guererro... and the current Giants manager, Felipe Alou, used to manage up there too.

Being from Chicago I'm a White Sox fan.  It was great to see them win last season.

This year, they need to straighten sh*t out.

BS.To actually insinuate that a baseball strike was caused so a Canadian baseball team wouldn't win the WS is ridiculous.

Ever heard of the Toronto Blue Jays?

They are Canadian and have won 2 World Series.

And the fans in Montreal are partially to blame for them leaving,they weren't exactly shown much support in their last few years there,playing games in a stadium that was nearly empty.Blame them leaving on you guys,not the US.
