You incredably lucky b*****d, closest I've got to that is watching one drive past in the Silverstone padock. Would that be the road leagal version or the racer?

i agonised for ages over the merits of a Porsche over a Ferrari, i really couldn't make my mind up - in the end i couldn't decide and bought both, a vulgar show of decadence some people would think, a disgusting display of wealth, what would the neighbours think? and what about garage space?

....i doubt if the neighbours or anyone would ever find out, i could find space for them i suppose................the cars are only ten inches long!!LOL

The road legal one, unfortunately it was one of the low spec ones (a mere 400 bhp)

Well there's one being built at the moment which will have a 650 bhp engine, and apparently thats a standard option.

Also according to the factory owner there are several on the road with over 700 bhp, most of them in Germany.

First I've heard of it, as far as I know (knew) all MT900's had tuned Chevy small block engines putting out 400-450hp, and its main objective was to be a GT2 class car, so wouldnt changing specs on each car get a bit confuseing when homoligating the car. Of course this could be all aftermarket stuff which wouldnt matter as it isnt factory spec.

I love both. But, own neither. I reckon if I could afford one, it'd probably be a Porsche 911 Carrera though - a little more discreet than a Ferrari, probably just as fast, and more usable day in day out. Or Aston Martin actually.....in the meantime am very happy to stick with my Mini.

The problem is that there are several different factories building them, some to the official spec and some taking the basic chassis and body and putting their own spec running gear in. The factory I visited builds the standard, racing and high(er) spec cars.

I didnt know this, I always thought that there was a single Mosler factory (I think somewere like Virginia state) and Martin Short's Rollcentre operation imported them to Europe. You learn something every day.

I believe that is the way the standard cars get here but the other factories which build them buy the rights to build the design and tend to build the cars to their customers' specification.
