Or how about modern bands/releases that have IMO imbued the spirit of Kraut in all its wonderous forms?

oh please. so you're simply discarding " At the Cliffs of River Rhine"?!? what about the magnificent " Fragments" album?!??!!?? (shame on you, oliverstoned! you rated both albums 4 stars, and you didn't say anything so far  )
many bands release super posthumous albums (like Mahavishnu's Trident sessions, and TD's concert recordings which pop up every now and then... OK, I know TD isn't dead, but their "magic" trio Froese/Franke/Bauman is...) and many times these are great.
I'd agree about The Other Sides, though. I wouldn't rate it more than 3 stars (and that's just because the decency of their music, albeit in straightforward jazz direction)

Can't say anything about him since all the text on the cover is scrawled in illegible German, but Klaus Schulze gets a namecheck. The music is in a Schulze/ Tangerine Dream format, but with guitars and drums (and lots of echo effects) instead of sequencers. Very cool stuff.

I also heard of Günther Schickert's name in AMG, while searching for some info about Achim Reichel (nevertheless, progarchives provided more info about AR afterwards  )
Apart from the aforementioned Klaus Schulze, AMG places Schickert in the same vein with Achim Reichel and Manuel Göttsching. The similarity between these two names (at least in terms of their guitar style) is obvious. Not to mention Schulze / TD similarity: apart from Schulze's contributions to both Göttsching's and TD's music, all these four names share the same hypnotic style.
in conclusion, Schickert's music seems to be in typical Krautrock vein (alas, I never had a chance to listen any of his stuff!) so will anyone (who has enough info) land a hand to get him in the archives? According to AMG, his discography isn't bulky (I saw only a handful of albums) so it will not be a hard work

I was thinking of creating a thread about krautrock myself, so Yukorin saved me a lot of trouble
please tell me all the aspects of Krautrock: (and please ignore my signature for the time being! ) - The very first band I recognised as Krautrock was Can (two years ago it was progarchives' sample kraut band... I know tangerine dream before, but I hadn't realised it was krautrock then...) so I expected Krautrock to be in this band's style (let me tell you the albums I first heard: Ege Bamyasi, Peel Sessions and Anthology)
- After getting used to Can, I searched for other similar bands and bumped into Ash Ra Tempel (only with Schwingungen then) and Amon Düül II (yeti)... The bands might have been included in Space Rock, as well...
- Guru Guru has been a surprise, because I thought it to be a jazz-rock band! (I had only heard Guru Guru live by then)
After getting acquainted with other jazzy kraut bands (Embryo, Kraan...) I understood that thare had been a jazzy side of Krautrock...
- most of Kraut is understood to be a kind of German spacerock... do you think it's true ??? (I personally don't, because few of, say, Can's output is spacy)
- not to mention the "motorik" beat featured by NEU!, and afterwards Harmonia...
- coming back to early kraut: many greats are not considered krautrock because they shifted their style in time... Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, even Klaus Shulze...
- and some are rather classified as symphonic: Wallenstein, Grobschnitt (this was once in kraut in PA) Jane (this is art-rock), Sahara etc.
are these also Krautrock, or what?
and more importantly, what makes Krautrock Krautrock? (apart from being German, btw, I think - and some people agree - some swiss bands are also Kraut: Brainticket, Krokodil, anyone?)
tell me your opinions!

Certain bands just seem to plop into the Krautrock soup. Be they spacerock, minimal, folk, avant-garde or crutons.

Have you ever heard of a fairly new English band : Electric Orange?
Their CD Cyberdelic is all Krautrock influenced. Very Good.

- Seesselberg (a synth excursion)
I know well of Cozmic Corridor Yukorin, but would you have to own any records from these bands. I would be very interested if you do. They all span from the infamous Pyramid label.

Has she had a cd reissue ?
Will check The Nazgul. Had a listen to a couple of Pyramid compilations and didn't think too much of them at the time.
